Arrowroot has become my go-to for chili and gravy thickening. Bob's Red Mill is a trusted brand too. Our local store carries Bob's Red Mill products, but they don't carry arrowroot, so Amazon is my go-to source for it.

Arrowroot contains heavy metals including lead. A Google search revealed that this brand has less lead than is considered acceptable. Arrowroot is best used to thicken liquids. It contains more fiber & calcium than cornstarch. I'm happy to support this employee-owned company!

For our dietary needs, we try to avoid grains as much as possible. Arrowroot flour is a great substitute for wheat flour when it comes to thickening soups and sauces. No flavor or funny aftertaste.

I love this! I cannot consume corn starch so this is my replacement for it in everything! It’s not gooey like potato starch and it has zero flavor so it won’t affect the outcome of your dish.
Also, I use it as a natural dry shampoo since store bought dry shampoos can cause hair loss. I add a little cocoa powder to darken it and it works GREAT! I use a designated makeup brush to apply.
