    The frame is made of fiberglass. I was hurt by it when I set up it for the first time. I should have read the material first. If it were not for the fiberglass I would give 5 stars. But it really hurt me, so I can only give 4.

    I don’t fish during the peak of the day in most cases, at least from shore. There are times where I take my son or nephew and they want to stay most of the day. Well, if you’re not familiar with the summer heat in Florida, it is brutal. Not only is the temp in the mid-90s, the humidity is typically around 80% so you feel like you are in a sauna, except in a sauna, it is dimly lit and you’re only in for a short time. On the beach, there is no escape, unless you have cover.

    I can make it all day but when the kids start wearing down or want a break, I can’t watch the sun beating on them and needed some kind of canopy. I don’t want to drag out my 10x10’ tent, nor my 16’ canopy, so I started researching smaller, personal covers and found this.

    I ordered the smallest size (1-2 people) and for any of the kids that may come with (ages 9-18), 3 small have no problem, or 2 of the older are fine.

    Assembly is easy and the pole are secure. The material is your typical cheap tent style material. Nothing bad, just nothing remarkable.

    I have three concerns and since they haven’t happened, I cannot deduct any stars:

    • I couldn’t locate anything indicating if the material, including the metal surfaces, are treated for saltwater. I doubt it, but it would be good to know. So, I rinse off like I do my fishing gear after use.

    • The tabs that hold the poles do not feel that thick and the stitching is simple. I worry that in shorter time, parts may fail but again, if it’s taken care of, hopefully not.

    • Lastly is the material. As I mentioned, it is then. In one sense, it’s good to allow the tent to breathe to a degree. However, does that come at a cost with long-term durability? I don’t know, time will tell. Again, hopefully not.
