This fruit bowl is cute and large--so definitely great if you have a lot of produce. The craftmanship is good, not great, and it does feel a little fragile. Either way, very happy with it!

I ordered this for the clean but elegant look and versatile function.
First, I was extremely impressed with the secure and protective packaging. The material can be so easily damaged. The quality material used however will not be easily damaged. It is very strong.
This bowl is labeled as a fruit bowl, which is what I will be using it for... as soon as I go to the store and buy more apples. For the holidays, I plan on using it as a bread basket (lining it first of course). Because it is a raised bowl it won't take up as much room on the table as a plate or regular bowl, just the diameter if the pedestal.
In between, I love the cinnamon pinecones so they will be going in there also!

Artful, Well Made Fruit and Vegetable Countertop Basket

Please take a look at the photographs. This is a beautiful and functional addition to my kitchen countertop. "Assembly" is nothing, just a nut that goes on a screw mount attaching the pedestal to the bowl. The woven raffia (made of cotton and wood accoring to my research) is beautiful and a nice addition to the decor in my kitchen. The only downside here is that this bowl would likely be more difficult to clean than if it were made of harder substances (like ceramic or plastic) when fruit or vegetables start to decay. I am more than willing to keep an eye on the items I have in the bowl and remove them when they start to go bad so I can have an item this lovely in my home.
