Won’t damage pants like the wooden stretchers!

Won’t damage pants like the wooden stretchers!
I did a lot of research on pants stretchers and read a ton of reviews before choosing this one. My hard work paid off because this works GREAT and did not damage my jeans the way the wooden style stretcher might. I am a blue jean fanatic. I just love them and some cost more than I care to say. I recently bought a very unique pair of jeans that have a low waist, meaning the waistband sits much lower to the hips, so they were a little too tight to be comfortable when I received them. The key reason I chose this brand is because it clips closed around the button and button hole. The other wooden style requires you to button the jeans before stretching them. This puts a ton of pressure on the button and buttonhole, causing the buttonhole to stretch out and also potentially weakens the rivet of the button. Nooooo thank you! There is no fear of either of those things happening when you use the footfitter stretcher because of the design. I followed the directions by wetting the waistband but in addition to using plain water, I added a tiny amount of hair conditioner. Not a joke. This only works for cotton clothes (I also do it when my tshirts shrink in the dryer). You add about 2 tablespoons (or more) to a small container of water (for tshirts I use a plastic zip lock bag) and then make sure the conditioner has dissolved before adding the clothes. Keep the clothes in the conditioner-water for least 20 minutes (or longer). Take it out and manually pull the shirt or in this case jeans so you physically stretch it where you need it for larger. The clothes will grow like crazy because the conditioner softens the cotton fibers. Then rewash the item being careful not to keep it in the dryer too long so that it shrinks again! 🤣 Anyway, back to the review … So I wet the waistband with the conditioner water and let it sit without the stretcher for about 20 minutes so the cotton would benefit from the conditioner. Then I used the footfitter stretcher as instructed and let it dry over night. In the morning the waistband was a full two inches bigger! I took before and after pics and posted them. I heeded the advice of other reviewers before me and did not expand the device until it bent or made a cracking noise. But I did expand it until it was as tight as a guitar string! Also I figured I’d err on the side of caution and stretch it a little less if I thought the device was becoming too strained, because I could always stretch it a second time if needed to get the result I was hoping for. That’s wasn’t necessary though because the extra two inches did the job - in fact, maybe a little too good because now a belt is needed to pull them back in a little. I’m not complaining though! I wish this device wasn’t so expensive ($31.xx at the time of this review). But on the other hand it worked fantastic and did not damage my jeans at all, so a lot can be said for just paying the money for a great tool once instead of buying something cheap and needing to get new jeans anyway.

Thought I'd give this a try instead of replacing them.
It works well to give another inch or two of waistline.
Be sure to soak your pants in warm water for 30 minutes and screw down the clamp as tight as you can, allowing space between the pant's button and the clamp to prevent damage to the button if the jeans slip slightly in the clamp when stretching.
Let them hang in the clamp until dry.
I did 7 pairs and and they all fit great again!

I was pleased with the stretching results with the waste band wet. The wetter the better stretch. Made my 36 inch work jeans at least 38. Be careful not to flex the waste band while you have it tight or one of the plastic spool pieces will break. That said a replacement was sent right out by Lori at Cane Mart. What a lovely woman to deal with. Its easy use, just get the garment even and level with the top on both ends and tighten to JUST BEFORE the body of the stretcher starts to bow. After a few minutes try to get another turn without bowing the stretcher. It can only be extended to 9 threads as it will separate from the middle turnbuckle at 10 threads but that will make yours jeans loose fitting and 200% more comfortable than before. Its a little pricey for the cheap plastic spool pieces. They could be made thicker one would think so as not to break under tension but the functionality of this product and the delightful lass LORI at Cane Mart still make it a buy!

This product is amazing as it doesn't pull on the actual button when stretching. It allows it to connect around the button while the pants are unzipped/unbuttoned. It's really easy to use to add/subtract the inserts to best fit your pant size. I highly recommend.

I appreciate the added comfort and versatility it has brought to my footwear collection. If you’re looking for a high-quality shoe stretcher, I highly recommend FootFitter

This design is better than the other wooden designs as it clamps the waistband either side of the fastening button relieving the stress on it.
Need to soak the waist band first before stretching it and then leave until it's dry.

    Very sceptical about this product
But once I got it, washed a pair of blue jeans and put it on it actually does the job
It won’t give you 3 inches but it’ll give you a good inch and a half
Read the directions and take a good close Look at the pictures then you’ll have no problem.
This one is better than the other ones you see on Amazon
One last piece of advice, use common sense when tightening
I’ve used it on nine pairs of blue jeans, and I have had no problem whatsoever

I purchased the Waist Band Stretcher to save two pairs of expensive jeans that I unintentionally shrunk in the dryer. They were originally 34" waist size and ended up at 30" waist size after the dryer mistake.
The Waist Band eventually returned the jeans to a useable size and saved me a lot of money.
The construction is all plastic and I do not expect that it will last a long time but it did a job for me after several tries to stretch my shrunk jeans.
I would cautiously recommend this product.
