This heavy-duty tow strap is probably overkill for my Jeep XJ Cherokee, but so is my 12,000lb winch I guess -- you just never know when you’ll come across a motorhome stuck in a ditch and blocking the road. The strap itself is a softer-weave thick 3” polyester webbing that’s about 1/8in thick, it is sewn down to narrower loops at the ends to make it easier to fit into shackles or hooks. It’s actually a LOT more substantial than the photos in the listing make it look, especially the loop ends.

The strap didn’t come with any sort of instructions, so I’d assume this is more of a static strap, and I wouldn’t want to try using this for a kinetic recovery (a good kinetic rope is far superior to a strap anyway). But for most tow-strap uses such as flat towing, assisting a vehicle up an incline, anchoring a vehicle for winching, use as a long tree-saver, or many other uses it will be fine. The one I got also didn’t come with the Velcro storage straps shown in the listing, but it did come with an oversized bag that is larger than needed for just the strap. It would seem that DC Cargo is quite proud of their brand -- covering the sewn parts on both ends is a very large rubber DC Cargo logo patch. It also came with a DC Cargo sticker and a DC Cargo branded air freshener to hang on your mirror (I’m not making this up). Overall I think this is a good value for such a heavy-duty strap.

This is an excellent tow recovery strap. I have no complaints. I think it is always good to have one in the truck.

I have gotten my riding mower /snow blower stuck three times and had to use the truck and a rope to get it out. Twice the rope broke while pulling. That won’t happen with 31,000 lb break strength. The strength will be great if I need to assist another vehicle or I need help. This strap is actually heavy; weighs much more than I expected and nice to know it won’t tear or stretch when wet.

The strap actually looks better made and more heavy duty than the description pictures. The triple-reinforced loop ends look very well made and nicely stitched. The ends are closed loops so I will need to get a couple of soft shackles.

An oversized storage bag is included that will hold the strap and can also hold a couple of shackles. The picture shows two Velcro bands and recommends rolling the strap but there were none in the box I received.

Also there is no paperwork included but there was a thick card with a string loop in a cellophane bag. I thought this may have some information inside. I tried to separate the card only to suddenly smell something nice. DC Cargo included a card air freshener – who knew - but my hands smell great.

Soooo... need a snatch strap? Might want to consider this one. I tried it out today, and yes it works. Well... it worked when I had to pull my tractor out of a hole it created when it knocked over a dead tree. Tractor weighs around 1100lbs, and I didn't dead pull it. Got a bit of a running start. It'll definitely stretch a bit. Didn't want to over do it though, ever seen videos on snapback?? Not pretty.
It came in a pretty solid box, with goodies inside. Carry bag, a sticker, a smelly thing, and advert label. Bag is nylon-ish with a drawstring, and oversized for the strap (for rolling it into a circle I'm assuming). I'm keeping it in the box, imo it looks better. I'll put it all in a bag after the box wears out, but until then....
Anyhow, strap worked. Yanked my tractor out without breaking. But don't think this'll work as a continuous thing, its just designed to be used temporarily. If you keep it on a load too long, I can't say what'll happen. I'm not going to try it.
Good to have in the winter months, when folks get stuck in snowbanks. Handy thing to have to pull people out. I've got one in all my vehicles. So get ya one in yours!

They included a non-woven fabric bag for storage, and after I removed the plastic webbing that held the strap together I added my own double-sided Velcro to continue to keep the strap in a nice tight bundle. In spite of this strap being so amazingly thick and durable looking, it is also soft likely so it won’t scratch paint or chrome, so I found that when I had the aggressive side of the Velcro facing the strap it did catch and slightly snag the webbing material that the strap is made from. I simply reversed the Velcro so that the soft side was against the strap and made sure that my attachment points were above the part that has the yellow fabric logo. Like anything made for rescuing someone or something it would be very important that you know how to use this product, and do so safely and with proper knowledge of your vehicles capacity and safe recovery techniques.
