Based on the sizing guide I bought a medium. When it arrived it was way too large on me (about an inch or 2 of space all around the waistband), so I returned it and got a small. Unfortunately the small was so substantially smaller than the medium that I could barely get it on. Even then it was so tight I couldn't sit.

As others mentioned this is way too tight. I am a US size 10-12 and the L could button but too tight and not flattering. Unfortunate because this is the perfect denim material not the synthetic polyester denim.
