We got the small for our 11 month old and so far I’m impressed. It’s got a little knob on the back where you can get it pretty small. My baby has about a 18” head (lands kind of in the 50th-60th percentile on head size) and I even think it could fit on a head smaller than hers pretty well. I didn’t really test the limits of the chin strap too far so I don’t know how small that can get. My baby did try taking it off a few times but wasn’t able to and didn’t seem to mind it once we started riding so I am assuming it was comfortable for a helmet!
