    Same problem as so many others
    First off, I bought this a couple months ago knowing I wanted to try out making churros. I should have tried it out back then because now I can’t get my money back and by seeing just how many people are having the same issue as me, there is no way they can’t know about it. See the photo I attached. The red line is all broken up and, as you can see, it’s not in oil. I am sitting outside witting this review and the thermometer is as cool as a cucumber yet still shows temps all the way at the top. No amount of shaking works. DOA. Don’t buy this product- there is a lot of us that this has happened to.

I love this brand for smaller kitchen tools, and this thermometer proves they earn that reputation. Easy and clear to read, easy to clean by hand, gets a read on temperature quickly and accurately. If I had to buy another candy thermometer, I’d buy this one again. But this one is so good, I don’t think I’ll ever need to. Great investment. Not likely to break because of the solid design. And easy to fit on most pots.

      I'm a big Oxo fan, but this one misses the mark for me. The thermometer itself is durable and well constructed, but it's very top heavy and the clip on the back is pretty bad for smaller pots. In my experience the gromets are sustainable to rusting if you don't wash it right away (yes, I try to wash it immediately, but sometimes things sit in the sink a bit longer than we'd like!).

      The best feature in my opinion is that the glass bottom is well protected, which has been the issue with other brands I've used - nobody wants broken glass in your candy.
