I watched a number of online/youtube videos and this fit and worked perfectly. I replaced a 27 year old trim kit and their was a bit of "build up" inside the old parts. The only change that I really noticed, other than the new looking finish, was how easy this trim rotated. I guess after a slow build up over 27 years, you don't really notice the resistance. With the new trim kit, that resistance is gone, so it operates absolutely like new. Would buy again.

Have replaced several of these over the years. It’s a straightforward valve that has been around and rock solid for years. I usually purchase these at the local box store, but they were out of this model, so I purchased this one through Amazon instead.
This is a solid valve that is not that hard to replace. THAT IS if you can get the Allen screw out to remove the handle and remove the bonnet nut without over torquing the mixing valve body and snapping any of the copper piping and fittings. If you can not easily remove the screw and or bonnet nut even after researching and watching YouTube videos on other alternatives on how to do so, which could involve drilling or possibly cutting the handle and bonnet nut off, I would stop and call a plumber. If you put too much torque on the bonnet nut while trying to remove it, you run the risk of causing water damage.
I have read that some find the handle or round trim plate flimsy. I must ask what are you doing with or to your shower handle and trim that you find too flimsy? Once you get this installed completely and correctly it’s as solid as any shower handle and trim on the market.
I have also read some complaints that people can’t get enough hot water out of the shower or that the pressure is too low. For the hot water issue, I am going to guess that one of a few things is probably happening. People are not reading the instructions correctly and adjusting the rotational hot water limit stops to max, they have installed the mixing cartridge reversed and are getting more cold water when it should be hot water or have a hot water heater issue. I have never run across a lack of hot water in any of these styles of valves that I have replaced.
As to the low flow problems, a simple search on YouTube will give several options on how to correct the problem. Otherwise, as I stated in the beginning this is a great option for replacing old valve handle, trims, and cartridges.

Absolutely beautiful. Looks just like the picture. Love the ease of use, setting the temperature before turning on the water. My only complaint is that federal standards limit the hottest setting to tepid. The first shower was not fun. But our contractor warned us about it and told us how to easily reset the limit. Sorry I can't remember exactly how my husband did it but I'm sure it can be Googled!

Recommend using a plumber for installation along with the correct valve. The valve recommended on the Amazon page (with this product) is correct. Problem that occurred was the tile surrounding the original valve. Had to be trimmed by the plumber in order to get new in. It took the plumber a bit of time to get things working thus this is not a diy project unless one has good plumbing experience.

(Plumber was very good with years of experience.)

Final product works like a charm and looks very good. Good value. Would recommend.

The shower head is nothing special, but the faucet is a winner. It has separate levers for temperature and volume. After waiting for the hot water to arrive through the house piping, you set the temperature lever once, and then you can forget it. If someone flushes the toilet or runs hot water in the sink while you're showering, the faucet automatically adjusts the temperature to protect you from scalding or chilling. You turn the water on and off with the volume lever (the big one). Next time you shower, the big lever is all you need; the temperature goes back to just where you set it last time. A very welcome invention. Not sure how it's done without electronics, but it's way ahead of conventional shower valves.
