- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2017I like the double action whisk as it does froth the matcha tea while adding to the ceremony of tea itself. The scoop is the perfect amount. Do not pile it up or try to see how high up the ladle you can stack the powder tea, just scoop to fill the bottom as if a quarter teaspoon for a cup of tea. Whisk. Add more water slowly and whisk some more until it froths and the tea is blended in well with the water, you do not want to waste the amazing full flavor, mid level caffeine, delight. Take your time. Enjoy the moment.
Also, in a blender with ice, Greek yogurt and honey and this is the best smoothie you have ever had, yeah and you can bet it makes for excellent green tea ice cream as well. Some things are not one use, they are bound together with several uses that justifies it any time of the year or time of day, not time of night if you plan to go to sleep early. A cup of this an hour before bed and you will lay there thinking, "well it tasted great, now I'll just think about it for another hour'! haha!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2019Every day I think how happy I am that I bought this. Stirring macha into water with a spoon, it was clumpy. The little 'scoop' is the perfect amount of macha powder and the bamboo whisk disperses the macha in a couple ounces of cold water with a few brisk stirs. (then I add either hot water or milk, plus honey and a pinch of cardamom. Perfect. ) The whisk relaxed as soon as it started get wet regularly but I rinse it off and leave it to air dry and even with daily use, it has held it's whisk shape and works great. And it adds just a little feel of authenticity.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021I use this everyday. When I'm drinking matcha, I whisk with a small amount of hot water then add to hot almond milk (or cold almond milk with ice). When I'm making hot chocolate or chocolate milk I whisk cacao powder with a small amount of hot water and then add to hot almond milk with monk fruit drops or cold almond milk with ice cubes and some monk fruit drops. An absolute must. Worth every dollar. Can't live without.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2018I've been buying the Matcha Green Tea sachets from Trader Joes. Everytime I've had a cup of it, the mug is always filled with lumps of matcha floating around and then settling at the bottom of the mug so by the time I get to the bottom of my tea I'm swalling potent dry tasting powder. So I've tried mixing the tea with less water to get iut the lumps and then fill it up after but still no luck.
One day I tried my sister's french press and it helped to lessen the amount of lumps but still not enough. So I went onto amazon to look for a french preaa and stumbled on matcha whisks.
So I bought this little guy based on reading other reviews and eureka! It does the job. It doesn't make my tea frothy maybe I'll look up how to properly do so but it does the job I bought it for which was to get rid of and lessen the large lumps. So now when the tea settles it's just all dust. Only 1 or 2 big lumps are seen at the bottom with a couple speckles.
It's my first time using it so hopefully I cleaned it correctly so that the bristles are fine.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2022Pricey? Yes. But if you're really into Macha, this really works wonders for mixing. Idk what it is about the shape or material but this is like a cork screw. Really only useful for about one thing but very good at what it does and borderline essential.
Again, if you're really into Macha, I doubt you'll regret buying this.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2017I bought Matcha green tea powder and tried everything to get it to dissolve in hot water...metal spoon, wooden spoon, metal whisk, silicone whisk. My tea had a powdery mouth feel and there were clumps of tea everywhere, not to mention in the bottom of my cup. Yuck! Read the reviews for the bamboo whisk and thought I'd give it a try. It works great!!! The tea dissolves no problem and there are no clumps and relatively nothing left at the bottom of the cup. This whisk also makes the tea a little frothy as well. Bottom line I'm so glad I found this bamboo whisk!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2016Here's the issue I have with this item. Its made in China. I find it funny and strange that an item used in a Japanese tradition is being made in China. With that being said, I am unsure of the origin of the bamboo used in this product. For all I know it could be harvested from Mercury-contaminated soil at an industrial waste dump there. The item looked nice, but after the first use the center part( I don't know the proper name for it) unraveled. It still works, now it just has an outer cone and inner cone. The scoop works like its supposed to. Again, the source of the raw material and the craftsmanship are mysterious to me. I can't give it a scathing review, but the flip side is I can't give five-stars either.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2022Works great, no need to go out and but a genuine Japanese Takayama Chasen right off the bat. Just be sure to get a whisk stand to let it dry (not for storage). Treat it gently and it should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
First time user of matcha and whisk and did not find it difficult to use. Have had it for about two weeks now and no issues.
Picture is of the first time I had ever used and I was adding too much water creating not as good of a froth but when I had the balance correct - works great.

4.0 out of 5 stars great for matcha powder
Im a great fan of matcha but found the prices sold at the "tea" places were a bit ridiculous in price... this one works perfectly well and was a great value. you can use the little spoon thing to scoop a little as a little matcha powder goes a long way... I then use the whisk in a bowl to ensure there are no lumps...so far no concerns, you just need to be a little bit patient when cleaning out the bamboo whisk after use.
also id recommend using lukewarm/ hot water rather than cold to expedite the process if you don't have time to whisk as long.

This whisk is excellent...a must have for making matcha tea as there will never be a clump again! It is a durable, excellent quality bamboo whisk.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low quality
I bought it couple of weeks ago and we don’t even use it everyday still it’s falling apart already. They need to improve the quality, specially for this price.
