Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pair with my iPhone?
Beats Studio Buds + are ready to pair right out of the box. On iPhone running the latest iOS, simply open the lid of the case with earbuds seated in the case, hold near unlocked phone, and follow on-screen instructions.
How do I pair with my Mac?
If you have previously paired with an iPhone and the Mac is connected to the same iCloud account, your Beats Studio Buds + will automatically pair with your Mac. Simply, select your earbuds as the sound output in the Control Center or Apple menu > System Settings > Sound. If the Mac is not connected to your iCloud account, make sure that you turned on Bluetooth on your Mac. With the case lid open and earbuds seated in the case, hold your Beats Studio Buds + next to your Mac. Press and hold the button on the inside of the charging case until the LED on the front of the case blinks white. Open the Bluetooth menu on your Mac. Choose Apple menu > System Settings > Sound. In the list of discovered Bluetooth devices, tap or click your Beats Studio Buds +.
How do I pair with my Android device?
Beats Studio Buds + features Google Fast Pair. To pair, simply lift the lid and an on-screen, one-touch pairing prompt will appear on your Android device. For older Android devices or to pair manually, use the Beats app or the standard Bluetooth menu by swiping down from the top of the screen. To download the Beats app, visit the Google Play store or download directly from beatsbydre.com.
How do I pair with additional Bluetooth devices?
To pair to additional devices, with the earbuds in the case and lid open, press the button inside the case until the LED begins to blink white. Beats Studio Buds + are now in pairing mode and can be paired to any standard Bluetooth device.
How do you charge them?
To charge your Beats Studio Buds +, place them in the charging case. When you need to charge both the earbuds and the case, place the earbuds in the case and connect the case to a power source with the USB-C cable that's included with your Beats Studio Buds +. You can also charge the case without the earbuds. (Note: USB-C power adapter sold separately).
How do you turn them on and off?
Beats Studio Buds + automatically power on when they are removed from the case, and power off when placed back in the case with the lid closed.
What do the on-device controls do?
Beats Studio Buds + feature a multi-function ‘b’ button on each earbud. Press once to play or pause, twice to skip forward, or three times to skip backward.
Press and hold the ‘b’ button down to toggle between Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode. The press and hold function can also be customized within Settings on iOS or the Beats App for Android.
How do I configure the multi-function ‘b’ button?
You can configure the press and hold function of the ‘b’ button to either toggle ANC modes or activate voice assistant on one or both of your earbuds. Alternatively, you can customize the ‘b’ button to manage volume controls with volume up on one earbud and volume down on the other. To do this in iOS, while wearing your Beats Studio Buds +, go to Settings > Bluetooth > Tap the More Info button next to your Beats Studio Buds + to choose your preferred function for each earbud. To do this on Android, download the Beats app from Google Play or directly from beatsbydre.com. Once your product is paired in the app, select the “Press and hold” menu in the product page to choose your preferred function for each earbud.
How do I improve the comfort, stability, and sound quality of your Beats Studio Buds +?
Beats earphones come with three sets of eartips - XS, S, M & L. Medium eartips come attached to the product. Choose the pair that's most comfortable and provides the best sound experience for you. To select the correct eartip, first gently insert the earbud, with eartip affixed, into your ear. You can adjust the fit of the earbud until it feels secure. To remove the earbud from your ear, twist it gently and pull it away from your ear.
How do I activate Siri or other voice assistants?
On Apple devices, you can activate Siri hands-free just by saying “Hey Siri”. Or, change the function of the ‘b’ button to activate your voice assistant within your iOS settings. On Android, download the Beats app to change the press and hold function of the ‘b’ button to activate the default voice assistant on your device. Voice assistant access via the ‘b’ button can be customized on one or both of your earbuds.
How long does the battery last?
Beats Studio Buds + can provide up to 9 hours of listening time with ANC or Transparency turned off, or up to 6 hours of listening time with ANC turned on. The case holds around three additional charges for a combined total of 36 hours with ANC off (24 with it on).
Do they have a microphone?
Each Beats Studio Buds + earbud has three total microphones, enabling high-quality call performance as well as ANC and Transparency performance. During phone calls, all three microphones are active to optimize conversations when using one earbud, and six microphones are active when using both earbuds.
Can I wear just one earbud?
Yes, you can use either earbud independently.
How waterproof / water resistant are these?
Beats Studio Buds + are rated IPX4, which means they are resistant to sweat and water splashing from any direction. The case is not sweat- or water-resistant.
How do I keep my product up to date?
Software updates will occasionally be made available to enable new features or improve the product experience. These ‘silent’ updates are automatically enabled when connected to an Apple device. To stay up to date on an Android device, download the Beats app from Google Play.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024Color: IvoryStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseI compared these beats with AirPod pros. Both are Apple products.
The beats have a smaller range of volume, the lowest volume is pretty loud for the “lowest volume”. Each level for volume going up is minimal compared to the AirPods. (At around 1/3 of the volume they match volume. AirPods get a lot quieter and ALOT louder, I’d say 10% louder) The beats are loud enough for me I leave it at 3/4 of volume.
Noise cancellation is really good, some noise filters through in loud environments but it’s enough when you’re at the gym and busy places. I experienced noise filtering through when I was in a car with music blasting. So I’d rate the noise cancellation pretty high.
Pass through, pass through is good. I’d recommend not having the pass through when there’s lots of noise cause it’s good and personally it can get loud. When there’s a sudden loud noise the earbuds make the same loud noise and it could hurt your ears if you have sensitive hearing.
Cons, when in loud environments if you are on a call the earbuds filter out the noise, and when you speak it filters your voice a bit too which makes it hard for the other person on the other end to hear you. Also the bit about the loud noise with the pass through and sensitive ears is a con for me.
Battery life is really good, lasts me my work day and a bit more, I’m sure like all batteries that would go down after use but hasn’t happened to me yet I’ve had it for 2 months now.
Bluetooth, the Bluetooth is pretty strong. You could probably still have a connection a few rooms away in a house before the connection begins to fail. Unlike AirPods when you remove the bud from an ear whatever is playing will not pause unless YOU pause it. This means it’s constantly connected, when you are within the Bluetooth radius of course. I’ve lost a bud twice but this actually helped me find it, so that’s a plus. And with these beats you cannot connect another pair to your phone like you can with AirPods. So it’s only on pair of beats at a time.
I really like the earbuds and I think they are well worth the price, to me they are a barely lesser version of AirPod pros. I’m considering getting the studio pro’s over the AirPod max after this experience.
Update 4 months later- The battery life is still very strong, I have had some issues with them disconnecting and reconnecting to my phone and I believe it’s because when I got my Apple Watch, it must be Confusing the connection between my phone and the watch. Yes, it can be annoying but to me, it’s still worth it. All really need to do is reconnect with my phone. I don’t think AirPods Will have this problem. But I’m not sure. There was one day where the noise cancellation on my right earbud stopped working, but it’s because I didn’t have enough battery so I had to charge it after that I had no issues.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2023Color: TransparentStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseThis is hands down one of the best earbuds in the world period. Some cons that I've noticed after using them are.
Cons:
-The left earbud has low static sound when nothing is playing.
-The earbuds pick up a ton of background noise with their microphones. But it's normal.
-Note that it's impossible to speak to someone on the phone while, for example you're at a pretty loud gym.
-Putting one earbud into the case, pauses whatever you're playing from your phone.
-I personally never use transparency mode. However, when putting one earbud into the case, it always switches to transparency mode, and you have to manually change it on the app. The app doesn't allow to set default modes.
Pros:
-They are build very strong, and earbuds wouldn't come apart and break even if you step on them.
-Earbuds are able to connect/link to two devices at the same time and switch between them seamlessly. Few earbuds have this capability if any.
-Additionally, earbuds are able to link to your Google account and connect to devices much easier.
Overall, very good noise cancellation, sound quality, decent bass, battery life, charging speed, design, feel, and look.
Two month update: Sometimes the system notifications get messed up - it notifies you about the percentage of the case and both earbuds every 5 seconds. Sometimes one of the earbuds goes out, without a low battery warning. Putting them into a case for a few seconds fixes this. Also sometimes the noise cancelling gets messed up - it does the exact opposite - adds noise. Again putting both of the earbuds for a couple of seconds into the case fixes this.
Six month update:
I had to send this product for repair (directly to apple) tree times before all issues were fixed. The first two times, it was free, but the third time I had to pay $84 for them to get fixed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best bluetooth ear buds I've heard so far
Color: Black/GoldStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseBeats Studio Beats + are the third bluetooth ear buds that I own, I have two Sonys and the Beats. The big thing to remember with all ear buds (in ear only) is the silcone ends, if they're not the right size, the sound quality will be compromised. the right ends will establish optimal sound. Beats + has well balanced sound (provided you turn any EQ off). Great clarity and comfort. These are NOT waterproof contrary to what you have read or heard. Better pricing from Amazon than Apple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good EarBuds
Color: Black/GoldStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseThey have great sound, are easy to pair with both iPhone and Android. The battery seems to last very long. Good range from the phone. The voice in phone call is really clear and for iPhone user “Hey Siri” works with them just like AirPods

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Earbuds
Color: TransparentStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseThese are by far the worst headphones I have ever owned. They do look fantastic with the clear shells and they do most of the Airpods stuff with device switching and Hey Siri, they also sound really good. Noise cancellation and pass through both work great and battery life is great.
But they are so cheaply built. The screen mesh over the driver is paper and just glued in, they fall out so easily people sell replacement packs on Amazon.
Mine skip constantly even on files that are downloaded not streamed. They will just disconnect from my iPhone when I leave range of my wifi, not sure why they do that since my Beats Solo 3s, Anker P3s, and Airpods never did that.
The case randomly blares out beeps, sometimes constantly and then will stop when it feels like it. Very annoying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Sound and Comfortable Fit
Color: Black/GoldStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseI’ve been using the Beats Studio Buds + for a few weeks now, and they’ve been fantastic overall. The sound quality is excellent—rich bass, clear mids, and great noise cancellation for a truly immersive experience. They pair easily with both my iPhone and Android devices, which is a huge plus. The fit is comfortable, and I love that they’re sweat-resistant, making them great for workouts. The spatial audio feature is an awesome touch for a more dynamic listening experience. My only minor issue is that the battery life could be a bit longer, but overall, they’re a solid pair of earbuds for everyday use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really great product!
Color: IvoryStyle: Studio Buds +Set: Without AppleCare+Verified PurchaseI bought the ivy/bone coloured ones and there has been no staining whatsoever, I take them to classes and all around with me. Also bought these for the 4 different sized silicone ear pieces because the AirPod 3rd gen or whatever were too expensive. These have great noise quality but ones you get past 3/4 volume you start to hear it outside of your ears… this is definitely a me problem because I love listening to loud music. Very durable but the shape of the bud takes some getting used to!
