From the manufacturer

STAUB sets the industry standard in durable and beautiful cast iron cookware that can be passed down from generation to generation. Ceramics and essentials tools round out this iconic French brand’s timeless kitchen products.
Cast Iron
Proudly made in France, STAUB cast iron cookware possesses exceptional heat-retaining qualities, so it heats evenly throughout, making it unsurpassed for slow-cooking food to tender perfection, and for simmering hearty stews. Its textured enameled black matte interior browns food beautifully, without sticking. Classic STAUB lids are heavy weight and tight-fitting to retain moisture. Tiny spikes on their interior create a rain-forest effect, evenly returning juices back onto food.
Ceramics
The beautiful porcelain enamel glaze of STAUB ceramics prevents moisture absorption during baking, so baked goods won't dry out, and it diffuses heat gently and retains heat exceptionally well. Oven and broiler safe up to 572°F, ceramics can also be used in the microwave and are conveniently dishwasher safe. Highly scratch and impact resistant, STAUB ceramics are also freezer safe. Bake and then serve directly to table in these elegant dishes.
Tools
From spatulas and serving spoons, to tongs and trivets, STAUB tools are lovingly designed in France, offering all the quality and beauty you’ve come to expect of STAUB cast iron and ceramics. Tools that are meant to be used in hand are ergonomically contoured for the ultimate in comfort. - Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2024Color: CherryVerified PurchaseThis is an excellent skillet. I have an assortment of non-stick, try-ply stainless steel, and cast iron. I cooked Sunnyside up eggs in stainless steel, So that's proof the right cooking technique is needed for the right pan.
I have two staub Dutch ovens and this is my first staub Skillet. Made an omelet so far. The key to cooking with enamel cast iron is to heat the pan on low for 2-3 minutes. Then add oil. Fat is a must because these are not non-stick. Then I boosted the heat to medium. When the oil was hot enough, I cook my omelet. There was no sticking. No eggs were left behind in the pan.
Clean up was real easy. All I needed to do was wait for the pan you completely cool down and then wipe it with a paper towel and rinse it with just plain tap water.
My pan was shipped and sold by Amazon. For those reviews that are complaining about the quality, I don't know if those pans were sold by Amazon or not. There's a lot of knock-offs out there and the product really has to be shipped and sold by Amazon if you want to guarantee you're not getting a counterfeit product.
I highly recommend staub enamel cast iron.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024Color: CherryVerified PurchaseHave used Le Creuset, MS, custom jobs, many enameled cast iron pans. This Staub is clearly and easily the best. Absorbs and holds heat better than the aforementioned, as good as they are, handles well and cleans easier. For some reason it also sticks to the food less than all the other brands. And added plus. Rare and surprised given the predatory nature of things today that this kind of quality product is still available today.
Let's hope it stays that way.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025Color: CherryVerified PurchaseI have several Staub pots including a Dutch oven that is my go to for so many things. It is my favorite cookware. However, this pan is quickly becoming an albatross. Everything sticks to it and it is a royal pain to clean. It’s also very heavy which I like with pots but with a skillet it’s a bit cumbersome. Overall sorry I bought this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dent in the middle of the pan
Color: CherryVerified PurchaseWhen I received the pan, right out of the box, there was a noticeable dent, or more like imperfection in the pan. I will be looking into an exchange. However, I would think that Staub would have much higher quality assurances in place to prevent their products from leaving with blemishes like this.
