This is a great product and the materials used are high quality. The screws and plastic used are very strong. This is perfect for baseboard, sill, and mantel installation where you want something discreet.
Imagine my surprise when after wiring these into an existing run my other outlets tested fine, but the new Sillites had reversed polarity. My Sillites had a black screw on a brass colored connector, a green screw, and silver screw on silver connector. Everyone familiar with wiring knows that it is common for the hot black wire to be connected to the brass colored screw on outlets and the neutral white wire to be connected to the silver screw. Green is for ground. But in the instruction manual it says to connect the wires based on the labeling. Inexplicably, these units had the colors reversed. Neutral white wire was to be connected to the black screw and the white neutral wire was to be connected to the black screw. This is counterintuitive. Thankfully I caught that after only wiring two. I have included two pictures of how I originally wired the connector. In the photos, this is INCORRRECTLY wired. Note the labels beneath the screws. I ended up swapping the black and white wires to match the labeling, and I also swapped screws to make it more intuitive for anyone that may work on these in the future. This seems like a manufacturing mistake, though if wired based on the labels it works as intended.

I still gave the product 5-stars, but the color coding on the screws and labels is not cool, and I could see many people making the same mistake I made.

Great Outlet here’s a few tips
We wanted a hidden plug near the fireplace mantle so we could plug in lights, especially around Christmas time. Comes with a cap you can paint. I’d sand and prime it first. You’ll need to add some reinforcement if you mount this outlet in drywall like others have said. Luckily, this plug was in the middle of 2 studs, so I just used longer screws and drilled into the studs, it’s not going anywhere. I also had to drill out the holes a little bigger on the plug so the longer screws could fit through. Very pleased with the result. Plug seems well made.

I had to tear all that wall off to make this happen. Going to pretty it up with tile. The outlet is the best and I can add another outlet above it someday. But won't. Thanks for making this.
