If you are looking for a budget toilet brush, this is a good value. It gets the job done.

The brush arrives in a box which is not much larger than the base. In fact, I thought I was sent the wrong item until I opened it up. The handle is comes in two pieces which must be screwed together to attach to the brush. (The description says "with Long Handle", but it's not very long.) There are no instructions included, so you'll need to refer to the photos on the product page to see how it should be assembled. There is a plastic disc (which functions as a lid) which needs to be inserted before screwing the handle onto the brush. That's the only assembly required.

Also included in the package is a plastic mount with adhesive which can be attached to a wall, and the toilet brush base can be hung up. I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that, since it could become a wet mess on the floor below or possibly damage the wall covering, but if you want it, you have that option!

The brush works well, as expected. One side of the brush has no bristles, which seems kinda pointless. I'm guessing that should allow getting under the rim around the toilet bowel, but I can get under the rim with the other side of the brush as well. I like to scrub the entire interior surface of the bowel, so I'll never use the side without bristles.

Another part of the design which I think was poorly designed is the lid integrated into the brush. The lid serves no useful purpose, and it will cause the brush to take longer to dry out after use. Worse, the lid gets in the way when using the brush. It kept hitting the side of the bowel and the rim as I was cleaning the toilet. If you tap the brush on the side of the toilet several times as I do when done to shake off the toilet cleaner suds and water, be careful not to break the lid disc.

What drew me to this toilet brush is that it has a lid as I like the toilet brush to be covered. I wish the lid was a bit higher up the handle so that it didn't get splashed when cleaning the toilet, but that's a minor issue. It requires assembly which was pretty easy and intuitive. It has a simple design and looks nice in the bathroom. It cleans well and the bristles seem pretty durable.

Easy to put together and use, but be careful if you are scrubbing a toilet bowl using a twisting motion. The head can and will unscrew if you are not careful, leaving you to fish the head out of your toilet. I did not elect to hang it from my wall, but the stand stays vertical on its own without having to lean on anything. The drip catch tray is a nice touch.

Okay, let's be honest, it is a toilet bowl cleaner! A couple things I noticed, the bristles are very strong and somewhat wiry/ scratchy - so I will be concerned about whether this might actually scratch the surface of the toilet. So far I have had no issues, but I will be monitoring this.

I was impressed with the brush holder - it is actually very pleasant looking and has ventilation openings to dry out any water that remains on the brush . That is the main issue with most toilet brushes, and this one rectified that problem! I did not use the wall mount and didn't find it necessary with the quality of the holder.

The splash guard serves the purpose of preventing debris from flying in your face, but also is what holds the brush in the holder, so good all around.

At the current price of $17, this is a little more expensive than grocery store toilet bowl cleaners, but I like the holder with vents and feel this is a pretty fair price for those benefits.
