    Lightning Fast Monopoly
Monopoly Deal is a small card game that I had low expectations for. It was on sale so I decided to give it a try. Gameplay: Each player starts with 5 cards in their hand. At the start of their turn, they must draw 2 cards then play up to 3 cards. They can either play an action card, a property card, or any card into their personal bank. At the end of their turn, they must discard down to 7. Playing cards into your personal bank is valuable, because eventually you'll need to pay rent or some other shenanigans will occur requiring you give money to your opponents. The catch is, you can ONLY play money from your bank/property, never your hand, so you always want to have cash on hand or else you'll have to pay from your properties - and change is not given. The game ends when one player has completed 3 sets of properties. Pros: 1. The game is quick 2. The game doesn't take up much space (box or table play area) 3. There is some strategy 4. Game teaches set-collection, hand management, and math. 5. The game is quick Cons: 1. There is a lot of luck The game plays quickly at least compared to normal Monopoly. I like that it is a minimalist sort of game - it's just a deck of cards so it doesn't take up a lot of space on the bookshelf and the game itself is easy to play on a card table. I like that this is an easy game that we can play on a weeknight. What I don't like is that it is highly dependent on luck. There is some strategy, e.g. don't play cards that can complete your opponents set unless you can complete it yourself, because some cards allow properties to be traded or stolen. You might be out of luck if you don't have a card to cancel those effects. And always have some money available to pay up rent - keep the small change, because no change is given! So in a way, this game can teach the concept of hand management - making good decisions on what cards to keep or play. This game has similar amounts of luck as another Hasbro card game, Life Goals. However, that game has a storytelling element. This game is less humorous and the "take-that" or attacks on other players is more prominent; it's a more vicious game. I did with the last game, but the victory seemed hollow - I just happened to be lucky with my card draws. I didn't do anything to win except follow the rules. Other Monopoly games that we've tried recently include Monopoly Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Monopoly Chance. Monopoly Chance is the most different from the standard Monopoly formula and I think definitely worth checking out because it has different game mechanics and vibrant plastic skyscrapers. Although both of those games are longer I think they are more fun than Monopoly Deal. Monopoly Deal is easy to play, it's small/travel-size, but I don't think it's one that I will keep. There are a lot of other card games that are small and quick to play that are more fun. If you are interested in small card games that are easy to play with families, I would recommend instead Life Goals, Timeline or Cardline (at least it's educational and has lots of picture), Similo, or Abandon All Artichokes.

I got this card game for Christmas and it’s awesome! Honestly great for all ages (NOT for cry babies though🤣). It’s fast paced and super cutthroat. Seriously, no mercy! But one game is only like 15-20 minutes long, so me and my sister just play over and over again without getting bored. The better you are at it, the quicker the game goes. Wicked clever design, honestly WAY better than the OG. I used to NOT really like monopoly because it would take hours and I would always loose. But this game I’d say has a little more of a strategy to it, and it’s much easier to learn in my opinion. They’ve got a ton of action cards, properties, and money. Everything Monopoly has but more, and better! I brought this game to a retreat and it was a HIT! We played several hands and they liked it so much they bought the game! I have to say it’s definitely much more fun with 2-5 players, when you play with too many people (at least in my experience) it can get a little confusing and messy. However I think if you have a big group, as long as everyone has played a few times before it should be fine.

If you enjoy Monopoly but can never find people to commit to a forty-hour board game, Monopoly Deal is a solid alternative. We played it with three people (mid-20s), and each game took almost exactly 15 minutes.

This game does well to encompass much of the board game. All of the properties are there, including utilities and railroads. Houses and hotels can be "built" onto full monopolies. Instead of dice and people landing on your properties, there are "rent" and "pass Go" action cards. Instead of money, you have cash cards with set values.

I encourage anyone to read the entire direction sheet before the game starts (as opposed to simultaneously, which is often the case in learning new games). I think the rules are pretty clear, but we did run into one issue that was not covered while we were playing. We simply made a quick and fair house rule, and got on with the game. The goal is to get three monopolies. Once you have three monopolies on your turn, the game is over.

With three players all angling to win, it can still get a bit cut-throat as far as trades are concerned. People are hesitant to give someone a monopoly even if it gives them one, because the win requirements are so low. I think four monopolies would ease up some of that unwillingness to trade, at least early on. I also think that there should be a rule on place for a cash threshold victory; if three players have two monopolies each and you're sitting there with only one or two properties, then you likely have built up cash. As it is, the cash cache (ha) is merely a buffer so that, when people charge rent, you don't have to pay in properties.

Overall, this is a fun and quick game that has a lot of re-play value. I would buy it again.

Easy to play. You can play with 2 - 4 players easily. 5 players can play, but we ran out of cards. It is not like regular Monopoly where you can play for hours. The average game takes 15-30 minutes, which makes for a nice break during the day.

This was purchased after a whole can of coke ruined our old pack!

This came is like the classic game but much quicker and can be played almost anywhere. We have played this on a plane, around the pool on sun loungers. In a tent and in the clubhouse! It's got the kids off their mobile devices and talking.

The aim of the game is to collect 3 full sets, depending on the cards depends on how the game goes. You can think your doing really well and the next minute you ve lost all your cards and your bank!

My son who's 7 has loved playing it this year, regularly beating his older sisters! This game is great for all the family.
