    We bought this to squirt water into the air in our bird bath in an effort to cool the H2O (Florida, temp right now 98 degrees and increasing). It squirts great! For a simple and very inexpensive little gadget it does its job perfectly. NOTE that it does NOT charge its battery (if it even has one?). It takes electricity from the solar cell and uses it to IMMEDIATELY pump -- no sun? no electricity and no pump! But, hay, what do you want for under $15? It does need sun, not just light so not so much pumping at sunrise and sunset (certainly not at night!). Oh Yeah, when its really hot, the temp of our water is still somewhat warm so our great idea of using the fountain to cool the bird water was somewhat of a bust. Ain't science a kick?

    Satisfied with product. However, I didn’t read the description closely before ordering. Operates only while in direct sun, it doesn’t store energy. I placed it on my deck in a wide (12”) bowl. Worked well while the sun was high and bright. Very cute for the price. The fountain works pretty well. If it stops, it is usually due to low water level, or filter or sprinkler cap get dirty. Pump makes lot of noise when water is low. I refill water daily in the morning, depending on the temperature I refill around noon again. Suits my purpose. Easy to assembly.

    I gave this product 3 stars because it does work as the description states. However, I regret the purchase and do not recommend unless you live in a place that is always sunny.

    - The fountain will not work unless it is in FULL sun, hence, it will not work in the shade of a tree or an overcast day. I added a video to show what it does on a cloudy day, it gurgles. The fountain doesn’t charge like some of my other solar items. I wanted to put it right under a tree branch for the birds because they prefer to come down for a drink and fly back to a tree for safety. I’m unable to use the fountain as I wanted.

    - If the sun comes and goes, the fountain does too. The water will spurt out the top.

    - I did appreciate the little plastic straws that help keep the fountain in the center.

    - The water has to be at least 2 inches deep to allow the fountain to work. If working as stated, the fountain will shoot too high and it ends up splashing water out of the birdbath. Maybe it would work better with something deeper than what I’m using. I’m constantly having to fill up the bath.

    - My birdbath was a happening place until I put the fountain in. Enough said.

    I wanted to have a small water feature that didn’t break the bank and allowed the animals to splash around to cool down. Bought two of these strictly on the solar aspect, price, and how many fountain heads they had to choose from. So far, they have worked great. I have had them for about a month now and still working perfectly.

    I do agree with other reviews in terms of the solar power on this thing. When it’s in full sun, it is on full blast. Although it looks gorgeous on high, depending on what you have it in, the water can wind up outside of the bowl more than in...especially if windy. You will find the need to refill with water alot more often if your holder isnt big enough. I tried all of the heads and none of them solved that issue, so I wound up leaving it off completely and that works fine. It gets the water circulating and the birds still love it.

    On the opposite end, if this is not in full sun, it stops working immediately. If you walk in front of the sun, it stops. If anything blocks it, it's done. Starts right back up again but it doesn’t have any battery storage to keep it going if overcast. Not a big deal for me personally, but worth noting.

    5/31/21 Addendum:. The company reached out to me 4 times offering increasing amounts of money to delete this review and give them a 5 star review. I stand by this honest review.
    The title says it all. This is the review you need to read if you want this for your bird bath. I've had this for 2 weeks and really wanted it to work. It really does add a nice effect.

    The pump has an esthetically pleasing spray IF, and only if, it is in full sun. If it is cloudy or lightly shady, the pump spurts water in an erratic pulse. If there are heavy clouds it does very little. It is not the type of solar product that holds a charge, so once the sun is gone, the pump stops. Before anyone tears me apart for this statement, I expected this based on previous reviews. I was hoping for at least a weak spray in light clouds, rather than the pulsating effect.

    The biggest issue is that the suction cups on the bottom do nothing to keep the pump in place. Within 30 seconds, the pump floats to the top and begins drifting around, and water starts shooting out onto the ground surrounding the bath. This was the case in both a ceramic bath and a plastic type material bath. I tried weighing the pump down with 2 small rocks, however this limited the amount of sun to the solar panels so the lovely spray was relegated to the random spurt again. Eventually the pump was still able to float and dislodge the rocks.

    I do think this would be a great product for a pond, or any water feature that is large enough that it can float freely without sending all the water into the surrounding landscape.

    Amazon refunded my purchase without the need to return the product.

    I saw this on an instagram post and thought it was cute for the kids and managed to find this one on offer at less than £15.
    It arrived on time and well packaged. All parts were included and it was very easy to put together. The size is standard for these I think and fits most medium plant pots. My video shows me testing it in a large plant pot to make sure it worked.
    As you can see, when the sun is fully on it, it powers up well but it does need direct sun ideally. The solar panel does not store power so it will stop when cloudy or in shadow.
    There are different heads to attach and all easy to put on and take off. You are given 4 sticks to slot in to keep it from moving but I haven't used these as like it free floating.
    Would be ideal in a massive planter or pond as the water does spill over the sides and then you need to ensure you keep it topped up.
    I haven't needed to clean it yet buy full instructions are included and the parts disassemble easily.
    I'm happy with the quality of the fountain considering its price and our use so far, time will tell as to longevity. It keeps the smallest happy periodically in the garden. The sound is nice when it runs, calming.
    Based on all the above I would happily buy it again and recommend.
