This item includes a remote control “rotating” car, a handheld remote that looks like a game controller, a screwdriver, 2 rechargeable lithium batteries for the car (1 + 1 spare), 2 “AA” batteries for the remote, a lithium battery charger, a water dispenser and an instruction pamphlet.

I didn’t need the instruction pamphlet but I’m glad it’s there anyway. To operate this stunt car you must first remove the screw from the battery compartment and install one of the two lithium batteries. The second battery is a spare. The battery is already partially charged so the car will be ready to use once you turn on the black slide switch. You must also install batteries in the remote which requires two “AA” batteries that are thankfully included. To access this battery compartment on the remote control you must also use the screwdriver. Extra screws would have been a nice touch because these will be the first things to get lost. There is a slide switch on the remote control to turn it on and off as well.

It could be argued requiring a screw driver to open the battery compartments is a nuisance. It is, but it is also less likely a child could be harmed by the lithium battery if they can’t easily get to it.

As soon as both devices are loaded with batteries and are switched on, you or your children can start playing with the car. From opening the box to playing is less than 10 minutes. The controls take a while to master because the left control controls the two left wheels and the right control controls the two right wheels.

The weakness of this toy is that the car and the remote feel thin and cheap. I don’t think it would survive rough treatment. This is something I’d want to impress upon the children who were going to play with it.

The car goes forward and backward and turns. Unlike other toy cars, this one is designed so that when it reaches or other obstacles the car will flip and turn around. Very cool! Also unlike other toys, this car lacks sound effects. That may be a good thing! Finally, this car has an impressive lightshow of flashing and multicolour lights on the car’s body. These are especially spectacular in a darkened room when causing the car to spin makes it look like an illuminated spinning top.

The car has a misting mode which makes it look like the car is producing exhaust. To make this work you must load the car with a few drops of water using the water dispenser. The effect is striking!

This rotating car toy is fun to play with. I didn’t become bored with this toy and I don’t think most children will either. This toy is not suitable for toddlers or small children but would be appropriate with supervision and guidance with children with 8 and older. I would have given this toy 5 out 5 except for my concern with the long-term durability of the toy.
