Having a two pack actually worked out well for me, I have one set in the shower and a second on my desk.
In the shower it seems a little easier to work in shampoo and conditioner without creating more tangles and the spikes work as a wide brush to help detangle wet hair without pulling. At my desk it's just a nice little massage for stress to take a break with. These aren't really to my aesthetic but I don't think I'm their target market so I'm not counting it against them since I just grabbed one to try. I've found (very) small strokes are best, you can easily work the spikes around hair ties or braids but the longer your massage stroke the more likely to create messed hair and tangles that you'll need to brush out later.
