The C3 series features innovative skeleton construction, making it 2 lbs. less than the S5 series. Other conveniences include a 36-foot operating radius and foot pedal controls for quick and effective cleaning. C3 also features a silence motor to maintain a quiet environment, and an AirClean Sealed System that not only vacuums your floors - but also cleans the air your family breathes. Kona Miele's C3 Kona vacuum cleaner features an Electro Plus electrobrush. With a five-level height adjustment and an independent motor, the Electro Plus delivers the ultimate in cleaning power. A perfect choice for larger rooms with medium to deep pile carpeting. The Kona also includes the Parquet Twister - providing 180 degree rotation for the agile, yet gentle care of smooth surfaces. A telescopic, stainless steel wand and long electrical cord, with one-touch automatic rewind, provide a total cleaning radius of 33 feet. The C3 Kona is also equipped with a Deluxe Comfort Grip handle and six-stage suction control via a +/- foot switch. I am hear to share with you, this is the vacuum you will be very very happy to live with and use for years to come. It is quiet, has incredible suction and just works.     My wife and I really love this vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful incredibly quiet motor that delivers what I’ll call quiet power. We own two Dysons that deliver extremely loud power. The Miele has the adjustments needed to ensure damage free vacuuming of our wonderful new wool carpet which is a huge investment. Another feature I really like is the replaceable filter that super cleans the exhaust air. It has no Oder whatsoever. This wonderful product has my highest possible recommendation. It is well worth the money. It is a beautiful well engineered Vacuum.

    Okay, I am extremely disappointed with this vacuum. When I bought it, it cost $1000, and it looks like it's up to almost $1300 now. It's expensive! I spent a year or more actually saving up, researching, and planning to buy this vacuum because it was such a major purchase, and I let the internet convince me that Miele was some kind of amazing brand whose vacuums "suck" really well (since that's what they're supposed to do). Yes, they're expensive and the bags are expensive, but they're worth it. Right?

    Prior to that, the only other "good" vacuum that I had owned was an upright canister style. I forget the exact model, but it cost about $400. So, I was very very very excited to get my Miele. This was going to be a major upgrade, especially since my 10-year-old vacuum was on its last legs and clearly feeling its age.

    At first, I really liked this vacuum, the Miele. It certainly sucked better than my old vacuum, although probably not enough better to justify the price tag, and I liked the fact that the part you push around was not attached to the actual motor, making it lighter and easier to get up stairs, etc. So far, so good! I had a little buyer's remorse because it didn't feel better "enough" than the previous vacuum, but I convinced myself that this was a lifetime purchase, this thing was going to last me for the rest of my natural adult life and I was going to pass it down to my kids or whatever and they were going to be grateful to receive such an amazing, high-quality vacuum!

    Fast-forward three years. Three years! Only three years! Three years and 3 months, specifically, after I bought and it just stops working in the middle of vacuuming. I did all the things I could think of to get it back to life: unplugged, replugged, changed to a different socket, changed the bag, let it sit for ten minutes, and so forth. No luck. It had stopped working. I finished what I was doing with a broom. A broom! The broom did a better job than my 1000 dollar vacuum, because the vacuum was no longer among the living. I kept it, and tried it again a week or so later: success! It worked!

    I noticed something, though: I would roll over the same spot multiple times and the spot would be *dirtier* than it was before I started. As I vacuumed near my back door, I noticed that it was kicking up a cloud of dust, essentially spitting dirt out of itself into the air and onto the carpet.

    Three years. My previous vacuum, which cost LESS THAN HALF of what this cost, lasted ten years and was honestly still mostly functional when I "upgraded" to this one. Too bad I donated it instead of keeping it.

    So, yeah. If this had been a $400 vacuum, I would have been annoyed, but 3 years seems okay for that. If this had been an $800 vacuum, I would have been mad, but maybe tried to repair it. For a $1000 vacuum, I am absolutely furious at this thing. It's probably the best financial decision to try and fix it, but I hate it so much now that I'm just going to trash it with maximum prejudice.

    Miele is a great high end brand. This is my second Miele and I got the compact since I live in a condo. Simple operation and easy to move around plus the color fits in with my furnishings.

    The reason you are looking at spending a fortune on a top of the line Miele vacuum is probably because you care about the indoor air quality of your living space and you are trusting the HEPA-based Miele will do that for you as you clean. And maybe with other Miele models you would be right. Unfortunately, this model has a design flaw that often causes the bag to slightly eject whenever you open the bag compartment to check on it. So you need to be aware of that and ALWAYS push the bag back into its holder fully before re-closing the bag compartment.

    And why would you be opening the bag compartment to check on the bag, you ask? You would be doing that because half of the time you use this vacuum cleaner, the gasket in the bag does not line up properly with the hose causing some portion of the dirt and lint to empty into the chamber itself instead of the bag. This means you will spend hours having to clean out the inside of your expensive vacuum cleaner and replace all of the filters and hope that the initial drive filter protected the internals from all of that dust.

    I have used my Miele C3 Complete just a dozen times now, and this has happened to me on 6 occasions already. That represents at least 6 hours of my life cleaning out the vacuum cleaner after cleaning my house. Even worse, it means I can't trust it to work properly whenever using it and I have not found any fool-proof solution (yet) to keep this from happening, even while ensuring the bag is seated properly in its holder. And yes, I am only using Miele branded GN bags and all Miele filters on the unit.

    This is the most expensive vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It is easily one of the worst I have ever owned for this one reason. I don't care how great the suction is or how lightweight or quiet it is (all of which is true, which is why I give it 2 stars instead of 1) when the ONE job it has to do is a FAIL 50% of the time. It makes me dread using it. And yet I continue to do so because I can't afford to buy another one.

    Do yourself a huge favor and research this (there are youtube videos on it) and either buy another Miele model--hoping it won't have this issue--or else buy another brand altogether.
