I purchased this to replace the box grater I have, which was my grandmother's and probably as old as I am. My old one just wasn't cutting it, both literally and figuratively. So I shopped around. About 5 years ago I bought a cheap one, it didn't work as well as Grandma's so I got rid of it and went back to the old one. This one works great ( or should I say grate). I have grated cheese and potatoes and used the slicer on the side. It is solid, not flimsy or bendable. It cleans up easily, plus it has the protection glove and a container to grate into that includes a lid. I probably won't use the container to grate things into because, I still end up with cheese on the outside, but it could be real handy.

This grater is made of stainless steel and is very easy to use. You definitely want to use the glove that is included so you don’t scrape your fingers or knuckles. The red rubber around the bottom keeps it in place when using it without the included container. The container comes with a lid which is a nice bonus. The container fits upside-down in the grater for storage and you can drop the glove inside so everything is kept together. It has a nice handle to grip and the entire box grater is easy to clean. All four sides are sharp and grate or slice vegetables, cheese, or spices.
