My wife has benefited from many aspects of the CandidaDiet.com information, and so when I learned that they had developed a probiotic supplement for re-population of the gut with organisms helpful for battling Candida, we gave it a try. I like that each tablet contains 15 billion positive organisms, and that the tablet is designed to survive the passage through the stomach and actually make it to the intestines where the organisms will live. Even though it is shelf stable, we still store ours in the refrigerator, just in case, since we usually get several bottles at a time. My wife takes one with each meal. My wife is in the later stages of the candida diet program, and although there is no "dramatic" changes taking place as a result of the Balance One, we are fairly confident that her gut is getting populated/maintained with good bacteria. The tablets also contain a small amount of FOS (food) for the good bacteria.
I recently had a routine colonoscopy, and after stripping my intestines of everything during the usual awful prep diet and procedure, I was concerned to make sure that my intestines had some positive organisms going back in to help stabilize my gut flora. Although the hospital and doctor said that the gut bacterial are not completely removed by the intestinal cleanse, everything I read online seemed to contradict that. The first meal after my mid after noon procedure, I took a Balance One and have continued to take one per meal for the last two weeks. My gut seems to be operating normally. I also added some raw sauerkraut and organic plain yogurt to my meals.
I like the fact that I can take some of these probiotics in a small container in my laptop bag and not have to worry about the probiotics being damaged due to non-refrigeration during the day, either at work or on the road.

As a Registered Dietitian and a person that simply likes having a probiotic as part of their health regimen I'm so excited to have found Balance One's Probiotic! First and foremost, I appreciate that one bottle is a two-month supply! This is rare when it comes to high quality probiotics. Its important for me that it is time-released because that means it working all throughout the day not just a rapid influx at one time, I feel protected and supported for a full 24 hours. More importantly, time-released probiotics are better at getting the bacteria past the harsh stomach environment and into the gut where they do their magic, so I know its more effective than most. I have an autoimmune disease and am prone to sickness, but since starting this probiotic I've stayed healthy through a very virus-filled winter. I was even able to avoid the stomach bug my daughter brought home! And lastly, as an RD I put all supplements I order through a pretty thorough quality check, with probiotics being the most strenuous. Balance One's probiotic has more than just a couple of strains of bacteria (12!!), it is over 10 billion CFUs (15!!!) AND it comes with a prebiotic as well. I'm keeping this one in my medicine cabinet, for sure!
