Good quality, but louder than I hoped
I just received my neck fan and haven’t decided if it’s worth keeping. I bought this for a trip to California this June, because I am prone to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. It moves air sufficiently at its highest setting, but doesn’t cool the air much and was louder than I hoped. According to the app I used to measure its volume, it’s as loud as a “quiet street” at its highest (about 64db) and a “quiet home” (about 51db) on its lowest setting. I’m used to about 31db. Also, I’m “clinically obese”, and if I were any heavier I would feel like it was too close. I don’t think I’m going to keep it. It seems to be a good quality, and I was happy to see it uses a USB-C charger. The soft pink is the exact color I wanted and it doesn’t seem too heavy. Really my biggest concern is the noise. Being in public is noisy enough, I don’t want the noise of the fan to potentially block me from hearing my teen.

    Wanted a neck fan for a trip to a very hot humid location. A friend recommended this one and it was just what I needed. It is good looking, smooth design and does job designed to do. . It was more powerful at slow speed than the others I tried at high. The airflow and cooling woosh of this fan was outstanding due to all the extra air vents around the neck. Comes in many more color choices compared to similar on Amazon. Unfortunately, I had to return despite being exactly what I wanted due to the sound of the powerful fan. I needed it for a conference and was afraid the sound of the fan would be inappropriate in quiet meeting. I still gave a 5 star because this neck fan absoulutely did great job on what it was designed to do.

    I kind of bought this on a whim after a discussion about portable "cooling" technology. I can't say I feel any cooler, though I do notice a bit less sticky sweat on my neck and forehead while using it during a more intense activity. The included instructions were pretty much useless as they described a completely different model, something about a red light (mines got green and only green) and opening and closing vents, which mine doesn't have.

    It's a bit heavier and louder than expected, but it appears solidly built. I do have the occasional problem with it trying to snag any little loose hairs, but so far no damage to myself or the device. Battery life is a bit shorter than I'd like, might get 2-3 hours at low.

    All in all, cooling would be any exaggeration, it's more like a neck and head dehumidifier. Still, quite a useful thing in a humid coastal city.

    The product idea is good but its not very practical as it makes too much noice near the ears. Imagine the Mumbai heat, the hot air being pushed out of the fan and on top of that the noise next to the ear. It's not making life easy.
