The wax-covered candle looks infinitely better than the cheaper-looking plastic ones. The candlelight is a soft white, as described and desired, not that obviously fake yellow-orange flame. The remote is adequate, though having two is a nice bonus. I would heartily recommend these candles and find them beautiful and realistic-enough for year-round use. ONE NOTE: As another reviewer pointed out, the artificial wick was covered in wax, but a couple of swipes with a black sharpie fixed that and really adds to the elegant effect!
