Product Description

Zinsser Bulls-Eye Shellac Spray is designed to provide a natural, mid-gloss finish that will not change over time. Apply on interior walls, doors, trim, cabinets, furniture, and other paintable surfaces to block odor. Protective sealant spray can be used on various tools, golf clubs, wood toys, glass, ceramic tile and other surfaces. Clean up tools, drips and spills with denatured alcohol or household ammonia and water.

Bulls Eye Shellac is an alcohol-based solution of lac, a natural resin. Dries transparent with a faint, golden cast that is much lighter than oil-base varnishes. Offers many advantages over other clear finishes: it's easy to use, dries quickly, is non-toxic when dry and cleans up easily with ammonia and water.

It states on the back of the can that "spray shellac is 100% wax-free" and can be used as a sealer under polyurethane and other finishes. Perhaps they were confusing this product with the non-spray version that comes in quart size. I use it to seal wood before epoxy coat and it works great to reduct bubbles and color runs.

I learned this from a YouTube video. Spray any paper lightly twice with Bulls Eye Shellac Spray; then, you can paint on paper for watercolor paints, oil and acrylic paints, or any paint. I prefer buying excellent artist paper, spraying it with this shellac spray. Then, as soon as it is dry, I can paint on it with any artist's paint media, and it never buckles, and my art can be framed under glass. I like it most because it creates a perfectly flat surface to paint on, is smooth, and never gives in to even watercolor paints. It is way better then paiting on canvas and for water colors you can use cheaper paper sprayed with this is as good.
