amazing function and looks like it came with the toilet

amazing function and looks like it came with the toilet
After knee surgery, my husband needed safety bars on either side of the toilet, we had been using a stand alone railing (like a walker w/o the wheels) that was bulky and looked like a piece of medical equipment. I wanted the function of having the bars very close to the toilet (easier to lift your body weight when bars are close to you--also good for helping with balance), w/o the ugliness and bulk of the stand alone rails). The rails that attach to the walls were too far away to provide stability and the leverage needed to lift his body weight. The closer the rails--the easier to lift your body weight. This product looks like it was part of the toilet design, I like the look--compared to the other options. My husband likes the ability to raise or lower one or both arms, sometimes he needs the extra help with both down, but he also likes being able to move the rails out of the way--even in the middle of using the toilet. The convenience of being able to move the arms up/down is huge. Its much easier to clean than the portable rails. It is super sturdy and heavy, its heavy like a toilet is heavy, I think these rails can withstand 1,000+ lbs of weight on them. It feels that sturdy. xsaThe holes that came predrilled did not align with my toilet (duravit), measure in advance and if they don't align, you can do what I did--drill 2 holes into the metal plate so you can fit it on any toilet. It's worth the effort, you can have any plumber or handyman drill the holes and install it for you, its one of the best purchases I made this year, it's such a well made and well designed product.

We have tried many toilet safety rail products from traditional aluminum frames to stand alone units. This design stands out in its sturdy production quality and uniqueness. It is especially useful for small bathrooms with tight toilet spaces. It has a nice clean look and the arms can be moved out of the way to prevent inconvenient toileting for more mobile individuals. It is expensive but worth the cost if you have a small space or want a cleaner look. The directions and video need some attention for the western market. I have a Kohler toilet and toilet seat and the directions showing a toilet seat mounting plate definitely do not fit our setup. I had to purchase a 5/8 inch ss washer to strengthen and secure our toilet seat mounting, which was plastic. This worked very well and the seat and handles are very secure. Overall my almost 91 year old mother is very pleased with this product for her master bathroom. The handles felt very comfortable and secure to her. It frees up space so she can manipulate her walker in this tight bathroom space.

Solid, sturdy, easy to use. Nice change from the cage. Do yourself a favor though, do not try to use their directions. It is a common sense easy install, their directions are the worst I’ve ever seen (including IKEA). Just remove the seat,
place the assembled arm support so the holes line up,
place the seat on top and line up the holes,
then drop the bolt through and tighten it.
Their instructions have four pages with no real explaination….an honestly exhausting process trying to follow them. Lol

My toilet seat uses, as many others do, 3/8 bolts. These will not fit the slots on this otherwise very well made device. I'm old and no longer can just bring things out to the shop to fix or modify. My plumber says if he has to take it to the shop that would be another $200 or so (hourly rates are just nuts thee days). Waiting to hear back from DailyLife as to how they are going to handle this. Maybe they can send me a modified base plate?

These could not be installed on a one piece toilet. Had to return them.
  • Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2023
I gave up reading the instructions. I have a twist lock toilet seat. Just unlock and remove toilet seat, unscrew nut on the seat bolts, remove bolts, place toilet rail plate in place (after you have attached the arms), put the toilet seat screws back through the plate and into the holes in the toilet (I had to remove the little rectangular plastic inserts in the holes on the plate where the screws go through since my plastic twist lock screws were fat and didn't fit without removing it), screw the nuts back on, snap the toilet seat back on and you are done! Being able to raise the arms is a fantastic feature. Makes "wiping" much easier and allows you to keep them up and out of the way when others are using the toilet who don't need assistance. It looks so much better than the other options out there. It seems very strong, time will tell. Someone mentioned that the screws attaching the arms to the plate seemed short. If they loosen with time, it could be an issue, so I will replace them with longer ones if need be, but for the moment, they seem do be doing the job.
