Not without flaws
There’s always a use around the house for a putty knife even if you never saw a drop of putty in your life. Call it a scraper or whatever else, they are useful to have, even a cheap basic one that you can get for fifty nine cents. This one is in between that and the pro quality one that I splurged on and spent ten bucks. But it was worth it, the blade is strong stainless steel and the handle looks unbreakable. That’s for my deluxe one – this basic one isn’t that fancy. The blade is glossy chrome metal and has a nice amount of flex to it but be careful, it seems maybe a little bit too flexible. That blade only goes into the handle less than an inch and is held in place by only one rivet. My pro model’s blade is fully part of the handle all the way back. Both of them seem to have handles that I consider strong enough but this one’s handle is a bit small and has a design quirk that I don’t like – if I hold it in my hand in the most natural position my fingers press up against the metal blade, which is not only uncomfortable but could be a safety issue. I suggest you wear shop gloves when using this scraper. It comes with a cheap plastic blade protector which unfortunately is only held on by the product label and is only good for it to be sent to you, from there it’s a throwaway. I would have liked to see a reusable blade protector. I can’t address value because at the time I received this it was brand new and they hadn’t set a price on it yet. I would say five bucks is what I would pay at my local hardware store. Remember that a five star product should be the best you can get without any flaws or need for improvement. This isn’t up to that standard but as long as it’s priced reasonably I think this would be a good everyday scraper to have around the house.
