Purchased this for a pinup girl outfit that I'll be wearing over the summer. Going for a military pinup vibe, and this vest fit the look. It is a good fit and as good quality.
First off, the feel and weight of the fabric is great, the construction is solid, it’s also lined— I purchase it in black which surprisingly matched perfectly with a pair of pants I got from a different brand (people who wear mainly black iykyk how important that is). This would have been a perfect top had I been born with a smaller chest! When on, it exhibited gapping right in front of the armpit, this may be because the arm holes (in my opinion) on the pattern could have been narrower. If you’re experiencing the same thing, you could possibly take it to a tailor to adjust for the gapping or place in a dart on each side to accommodate the gapping. Other than that, it’s a fine garment and achieved the look I was going for, but I returned it in the end because of the gapping. I may repurchase it in the future and draft a pattern based on it since the fit was quite nice.
In tops, I generally take a size Medium or 8-10. My chest size is 36D. This vest fit well everywhere -except it is tight in chest. If I size up, it will be too large everywhere else and the arm pit area will blossom out away from body. I can button, but it is tight. I love the style so much, that I am debating keeping the medium. The asymmetrical style makes it unique and it is also has very nice detailing in back.
