I purchased books 1-3 when my children were 2&3 y/o. We read and re-read them. But when my children started to go to pre-kindergarten and transitional kindergarten, that is when these books were very helpful. My children are starting to recognize words, trying to sound out words, etc. All 5 books are written to recognize words and help to imprint the words. The author uses the same words over and over to help my kids in recognizing them and really know the words. All 5 books have very little words crowding each page. Each story is straight forward, building up to the climax and to the end of the story as if it is step by step. As in, if this happens then, immediately, next thing is this. Similar to recipe instructions. My kids and I read 1 or 2 stories every night. More importantly we either laugh or “aww” after we finish the story. Best investment for us.

    I love the Elephant and Piggie books! I was pleasantly surprised to find out they had volumes like this, saving tons of money on the books!

    I got all 5 volumes in preparation for my baby being born and I look forward to her enjoying the books as much as I have.

    My wild bunch of nieces and nephews came over to meet my newborn and were far more interested in sitting and reading these books together. So it seems they're a crowd pleaser!
