    My 5 & 1/2 year old loves these books. She is a little younger than the intended audience so she isn't able to read them to herself, but I enjoy reading them to her. My daughter has really gotten into chapter books over the past several months and while I tolerate most of them, I genuinely find these unique and entertaining.

    These books are a modern take on fairytales that encourage princesses (and girls) to follow their dreams and be more independent. Each book stands on its own and has a similar storyline. The two main characters, Abby and Jonah, start out at home (or school) with some kind of issue or concern. They go through a magic mirror and end up in a fairytale, where they accidentally or intentionally mess up the story and have to resolve it before going back through the mirror and getting home before their parents notice they are missing. Whatever happens in the story helps them to resolve their own issues back home. There is a recurring storyline about the existence of the magic mirror and the fairy trapped inside it, so I would recommend reading these books in order so as not to get confused.

    I highly recommend these books for any kids around 5-8 and my daughter and I are both anxiously waiting for her next book in the series.
