    I bought this as a birthday gift for my son's 5 year old art-enthusiast friend. It was definitely a hit! Comes in a very nice box, and she was able to set it up herself immediately. I read the simple care instructions to her out loud (basically, don't use anything but water, but don't submerge it in water either) and she gave it a try instantly. It's just a really cool, innovative product. With a slew of kid art projects coming in all the time, it's a nice switch up that allows you to create something to enjoy for the moment and move on. It even has a section in the booklet that addresses enjoying the art while it's there and then moving on. . . which is a great motivator if you are, like a lot of parents, constantly trying to de-clutter! I would recommend this to any one of any age, it's really relaxing and fun to use.

    I purchased this for my family. My husband, our three teenage daughters, and my mother think it's lovely. It arrived quickly and thoughtfully packaged. For the most part, it works beautifully. Unfortunately, I have a couple complaints. My main complaint is regarding the quality of the bamboo brush, or lack thereof; it needs improvement. Also, I think it's overpriced ($35). The bamboo brush just wasn't cutting it. For starters, there's a crack in the bamboo. Granted, it's a tiny crack (for now). I'm uncertain whether the bristles are synthetic or natural (likely nylon). They're soft enough, but hold little water. I have similar brushes that work significantly better than the brush included. We've had the best luck with a water pen brush. You know the kind... the barrel is a reservoir of water and you squeeze out desired amount. I highly recommend a water brush if you get this board. Aesthetically speaking, the brush included completes the set. Pragmatically speaking, the brush included doesn't allow long, fluid strokes. It simply doesn't hold enough water. All that excessive stopping and dipping harshes my mellow. For the price I was expecting better quality. Admittedly, it is pretty amazing and I don't regret the purchase. It's really fun and relaxing. It's an awesome gift for all ages.

    Additionally, after some research I found out this "magic paper" is something you can purchase (even on amazon). Just search for magic paper. It may be an inexpensive, practical alternative.

    Das Buddha Board wurde sehr schnell geliefert. Den Preis von 34,95 EUR finde ich angemessen. Das Buddha Board ist eine dünne Schiefertafel, die durch den mitgelieferten Pinsel mit Wasser befeuchtet werden kann. Dadurch wird das Board dunkel. Das Board kann in die beiliegende Halterung gesteckt werden. In diese kann das Wasser eingefüllt werden. Der ebenfalls beiliegende Pinsel ist sehr gut zum Malen darauf geeignet.
    Es ist wunderbar, eben mal ein paar schöne Figuren zu malen und sofort zu sehen, wie diese durch das Verdunsten des Wassers auf dem Board wieder verschwinden. Vorher ergeben sich noch neue Formen, die zum Deuten einladen. Nach dem Verdunsten des Wassers ist das Buddha Board wieder im Ur-Zustand und kann neu bemalt werden.
    Ich male sehr häufig und gerne darauf, ebenso wie meine Kinder!
