Marina Halak is a Ukrainian children's book illustrator and a professional dreamer based in southern Germany. She lives in a small town with her husband and dog, Wolfgang.     I am a mom and school librarian. We have a LOT of books but this is by far my favorite Christmas book. This was our advent countdown and our holiday checklist. Extremely well written this book had a short passage to read each day, scripture to connect to, discussion questions, “go about it” or activity suggestions and finally a prayer we shared. We were not able to read, talk AND do every single night but that means that we can pull it out again next year and again and again and still have something fresh. It also brought more meaning to activities we were already doing like playing with the nativity or seeing Christmas lights, singing Christmas carols. If you have young kids I highly recommend this book!

    We try to get a Christmas-theme devotional book for it family devotions every year. This one is different than anything we've done in the past, and my kids LOVE IT! They look forward to family devotions every day, and even plan ahead and ask to do devotions early if they know we will be gone in the evenings. The activities are their favorite part. Most of the activities don't require anything special ahead of time (though some are things like making cookies and delivering them, so those obviously are more of a time commitment and don't always fit in the schedule). Truly delighted with this book.
