Simple and Effective.
Overall: For slowly heating food, it gets the job done. Accessories are just okay. Container seals well enough to hold liquids.I have only used this with a traditional outlet. The car electric adapter gives about 25% less wattage, so you may have to adjust times based on that.The heating element seems to get up to temp in about five minutes. Cooking time after that will vary based on your meal. For me, thick chili took about an hour at half power (P5) to get nice and steaming hot. I filled the container about halfway, so a full pale of thick soup might require 1.5 hours at half power. It also does get hot enough to cook raw food, if you want to set your meal up that way, but cook time will vary greatly depending on the meal.The inner pale is pretty large. A large can of brand name soup will fill it about half way.I was able to fill this guy with water and turn him around and upside down, and there were no leaks, which is important for toting liquid meals around.The interface is super simple, two buttons, on/off and power level. Though they are oddly labeled “switch” and “gears”. I’m guessing poor translation or exuberant, eccentric designer.The thing that deducts a star for me is the utensil compartments. They give you a decent spoon and fork, except they don’t really fit into their compartments. You can kind of get them in there, but you cannot close the flap completely to secure them in there. Literally one millimeter more room would make it fit properly. I don’t need a stray spoon or fork flying around in my travels, so I don’t really want to use them now. It would have been really convenient though. Maybe I can find my own, smaller utensils.Bottom shelf dishwasher was rough on the inner steel pale, I would say top-shelf only.
