When I was a teenager, I had a mood ring that I loved. Now, as an adult in my 40s, my life is going through some major changes and my mood is all over the place. I thought it would be fun to get a mood ring and this one is PERFECT. I love the simple and modern design, and it looks beautiful on the finger. It's not too small and dainty, and it's not too big and gaudy. I ordered a larger size to wear it on my middle finger, and I'm thrilled that it fits both my ring fingers, middle fingers, pointer fingers and one thumb! This allows me to wear it differently depending on my mood :)
I love the size and shape of the mood stone, and it really DOES change colors! The ring comes with a little color chart, on card stock, about half the size of a business card. When you have a normal body temperature, the color is a rich, sapphire blue (meaning calm & peaceful, according to the chart.) I've worn it every day since it arrived, and the stone is usually blue or purple. But, occasionally, you'll glance down and the stone is a drastically different color. One time it was bright orange! It's a lot of fun to wear and it's very interesting when you notice a change of color.

What Makes the Color Change?
A mood ring is a ring that contains a thermochromic element, such as liquid crystal, that changes colors based upon the temperature of the finger of the wearer.
Who Invented Mood Rings?
The mood ring was created in 1975 by two New York inventors, Josh Reynolds and Maris Ambats, who bonded liquid crystals with quartz stones set into rings.
How Does it Work?
Your mood is correlated with your body temperature. A person’s normal body temperature is 98.6°F (37°C). When you are stressed or cold blood is directed to the internal organs and away from the skin and the mood ring will turn a darker color.
Is it Accurate?
If you are happier or feeling passionate the crystal will twist in another direction and start to change color as your body temperature increases. Therefore there is a correlation with mood and your body temperature so to some degree a mood ring can show your emotion.

I love the style, very cute. Sizing seems a little off on the small size. I purchased an 8 to wear on my middle finger, but it fits my ring finger (6.5-7 usually).
My biggest issue is that the stone has a flaw, almost like a crack inside.
