My old pal was struggling, especially with the hairball challenges posed by my Five-year-old Lab. Cue the Bissell Lift-Off Pet. It's like the vacuum equivalent of a superhero - but for pet hair.
The assembly was a breeze, everything just snapped together like Lego bricks. The first test run in the living room was a revelation. It was lighter, glided smoother, and was quieter than my old model. The swivel feature felt like switching from a flip phone to a smartphone - a bit odd at first but amazing once you get the hang of it.
Halfway through the living room, I had to empty the canister - a testament to its pet hair annihilating abilities (and maybe a hint that my dog sheds like it's her job). The canister was easier to empty than solving a 2-piece puzzle.
Next up: the bedroom and hallway. The amount of hair and dust it picked up AFTER I had vacuumed with the old one was both impressive and slightly horrifying. I wondered if my old vacuum was just an elaborate floor brush.

Over a few weeks, this vacuum continued to impress. The clear dust bin is like a window into a world of dust and hair you never knew existed in your home. Yes, the filters take their sweet time to dry, and finding replacements felt like a quest for the Holy Grail, but once you're stocked, you're golden.
The vacuum swivels like it's auditioning for Dancing with the Stars, though it does have a beefier profile than my old Hoover. Not a big deal unless you're trying to vacuum under low furniture or around certain tricky spots. And it's a bit top-heavy, so storing it is like playing a mild version of Jenga.

Powerful, affordable, versatile: 100% THE BEST vacuum
This vacuum a problem solving, game changing, animal saving miracle. I vacuum daily because I have to, so I’m not exaggerating when I say that this has been a drastic improvement in my life and my home. We live in an old, dusty house with a mix of hardwood floors and plush carpet. The pet hair from our 2 kitties is hard enough to combat, but my mom and I both have long hair that has killed many vacuums over the years. Then I bought a Bissell. I was so impressed that I instantly became brand loyal. In fact, the only reason we needed to replace it is because the power cord got shredded from getting sucked up over the years. The motor was that strong. When I saw that this one came with a self cleaning brush roll that actually cuts through those long hair fibers - I had to give it a try. While I would’ve been happy to repurchase the other one, I’m SO glad I upgraded!! Needless to say, the motor is SO. POWERFUL. I didn’t think I’d be this impressed after seeing what the old one could do but wow. Better yet, it’s somehow more quiet than the last one! It’s a teensy bit heavier, but it does feel more sturdy. It’s pretty small and sleek for an upright. The maneuverability is excellent, as well as the ease of use. Whether you’re switching from carpets to wood floors or releasing the extension wand, all it takes is the flip of a switch or click of a button. Every function and component has been carefully thought out and has a practical application. Without being overly complicated, it’s full of seemingly small details that truly make a BIG difference! One example are the LED lights: one that illuminates the space in front of the brush roll, and another on the “crevice tool” attachment. They make it so easy to spot hairs or debris you may have missed otherwise. The crevice tool is my new best friend for my desk area where I do a lot of crafting. (No more glitter in my keyboard! 😉) The auto-retracting cord, quick release wand, bagless canister, and double filtration system are all brilliant. By far, one of the best things about this vacuum is that you DO NOT need refill, replace, or repurchase any of the components or parts…. But, you absolutely CAN if and when you need to!! So the filter is washable, you don’t need to periodically buy wasteful products, and if the performance starts to decline after some time, it can probably be brought back to like new condition just by replacing a belt or brush roll for $20 bucks! Oh, and your purchase saves a pet. Duhhhh… Dyson who?? Seriously Bissell, we love you!

I did extensive research on vacuums for pet hair and no tangling of the brush roller or clogging up all the time. This Bissel came up as the top pick, but I still continued my search and used it as a comparison. I purchased it based off functionality, features, reviews and brand.
Setup was so easy! It is a little heavy, but don't let that deter you! This vacuum is dynamite and a powerhouse! The light is bright and really lights your path. I have 3 cats and had a thin layer of fuzz on my carpet that my other vacuum could not pick up. I only vacuumed less than half of my livingroom and what a difference! All the hair and fuzz were picked up. I filled the dustbin! I emptied it easily, but still needed to reach in for a couple of fuzzballs. That was a little inconvenient, but small potatoes compared with the performance. Price was a little higher than I normally pay, but the features and power This has makes it worth it! Bissell also supports pet charities, so my purchase helps feed and care for other pets.
If you have pets who shed, you NEED this vacuum! The accessories are a bonus for stairs, walls, baseboards and furniture!
