Works fantastically for my use, which is to heat up beakers without burning/boiling the contents. I was using a salon wax melting pot before because I had it on hand & don’t want to stand at the stove for crafting. This is MUCH better!
Attractive, slim profile, multi-use, large & flat surface seems to heat evenly, and heats quickly.
Right out of the package, it took about 15-20 minutes from when I turned it on (red light/hottest setting) to when the water in my beaker peaked at a little over 180°F and maintained that temperature. Water starts to gently simmer around 185°F and boils at 212°F, so 180° is perfect.
I am a little worried about the possibility of spilling on it or putting a beaker down a little too hard and damaging the surface, so I’ll be cutting up a heat-resistant silicone placemat to put over the burner to protect it from scratches, fingerprints, drips, etc.
Although my primary use is not as intended, I’ll probably be heating up a tea or two in between formulas! :)
