Bought it somewhat as decor to use with other Italian cookbooks on my kitchen island. Recipes sound amazing and I can't wait to try some. It's so special though that I really don't want to risk it getting dirty even though that's somewhat ridiculous. I can't help it, it's that pretty. I paid more than the current price listed here but I don't even care. I love it that much. :)

- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2018I have well over 150 cookbooks and Eataly is one that I'll be donating to a used book store. Most recipes are devoid of the use of fresh herbs or any spices. But the recipe for Osso Buco is ridiculous. As anyone who has ever prepared this classic dish understands, veal shanks are the protein that should be used. That said, you can substitute beef shanks but it is completely impossible to produce tender, succulent shanks by browning them for 3 minutes, then simmering in wine for a few more minutes and then braising in stock for another 5 minutes. They would be inedible. I would not recommend this book. Another example - the Vegetable Minestrone recipe calls for zero herbs, spices, pepper or ingredient to render flavor or umami. Lots of good Italian cookbooks out there - this is not one of them.
