Easily the best use of $150 in years.This steamer is as easy to use as a vacuum.Kitchen floor:My marmoleum (like linoleum) floor holds on to grime, especially in high traffic areas below the sink and food prep counter. Scrubbing with a conventional sponge mop with hot water and soap would not remove the worn-in grime. After the first pass with this steam cleaner most of the grime was gone. I figured I was passing over the floor too quickly. I let it dry and did a second passing back and forth over the floor slowly in the highly trafficked areas. When the water dried, it was clean. This is SO MUCH easier, no scrubbing and no bearing down hard on the mop handle trying to get the grime off.Next, I used the steamer's handle and floor attachment, which has great clamps for using your own microfiber cloths, to apply two coats of liquid finish to the marmoleum. When I was done, I squeezed out the microfiber cloth and popped it in the washer load, and then rinsed any liquid finish off of the floor attachment with hot water.Stainless steel cook top:I had a baked-on oil spot on the edge of the cook top and I could not remove it regardless of scrubbing, hot water, or chemical cleaners. Using the nozzle attachment, I slowly passed over that area then rubbed it briskly with a nappy all-cotton rag, and it was gone. Then I went after those annoying baked on spots under the burners. See the photos.Ceramic tile bathroom floor:This was a breeze. I ran a vacuum over the floor to get up loose dirt and dust, them a single pass with the steam cleaner around the toilet, along the base of cabinets and shower, and then the rest of the floor. Once the floor dried, it was spotless, and no chemical smell.I attached the nozzle and did a quick pass under the inside rim of the toilet, then a light pass with the toilet brush in the bowl. Best part, nothing cast-ff from the brush while cleaning under the rim.In the walk-in shower:I used the nozzle to clean out the base, corners, and insides of the slider door track. I'd cleaned this regularly, the corners were always hard to get and it would get grimy and moldy fast. Now I know why. I hadn't been able to clean deep enough in the groove and underneath parts of the track; this left grime/shower mold that re-populated quickly. The volume of grime I cleaned out was unreal, like how did it all fit in there. Now there's nothing there to re-populate it, so it should stay much cleaner betweemn bi-weekly cleanings.I tried using the steamer and squeegee on the built-up mineral stains on my shower doors. Honestly, I hadn't been cleaning it off the doors for about the last year because it's a lot hard scrubbing with harsh chemicals and it would only remove most of the build-up; plus, I had to be inside the shower with the doors closed (without kids, no real incentive to deep clean). The steamer alone didn't remove the heavy caked-on areas, but it did soften the build-up. It did remove lighter built-up residue, but left streaks. This is what I found worked: - In the lighter areas on the upper parts of the doors, I sprayed with low-chemical cleaner (I use Purcay, but I'm sure Method or Mrs. Meyers would work fine), let it sit a minute, passed over with the steam cleaner using the squeegee attachment, and the wiped lightly with a dry cotton rag to wipe of anything remaining. - On the heavy buildup areas, I passed over with the steamer and squeegee then immediately (while the residue was still soft) used Borax on a damp no-scratch dish scrubber with a light circular scrubbing pattern. I rinsed it off and the doors are clean. So much easier and a lot faster.Now the hard work is done, keeping it cleaned-off using just the steamer, or a light cleaning spray with the steamer should work.My next weekend project are the carpeted stairs. I'll use the triangular brush attachment with the microfiber "bonnet" with the steamer to kill of carpet moths and their eggs without chemicals.
