It took me a while to write this review because I wanted to get the best set up. I could to give this beautiful piece justice in taking a photo of it for a review. It’s just like what you would think it is on the picture except for receiving it is even more dazzling. It has beautiful naturalistic texture like you would find from a handmade artisan. I looked into the company LB2 and they are actually all architectural engineers so they know about architectural art and this just gives me the vibe of very natural pottery. It does not give mass produced at all. The beauty is just over the top. It’s just like you would find in the old world or something like that. You can tell architectural and artistic individuals created this piece. The color is a beautiful off-white with a rough outer body feeling to give it more character, but it’s nothing like an unfinished feeling. It’s just a very artistic piece. The inside has been glazed so it’s smooth. I love the upper lip they chose to put on this, I’m not sure what the method was if it was wheel thrown or clay coiled but it’s beautifully done. Imagine this being something you see an old grease or a place like a cob house or something from the old west. Has a lot of weight on it but not too heavy to carry. I love the neutral off-white color. I believe it’s worth The asking price because it is an art piece. The size of it is something that can go on a table, but made for you to use as decor on the floor in the living room anyway, you want to use it it can be used. It did not come with any defects, I’m still trying to figure out if I want to put a dry grass plant in there or a plant I will regularly water. I will see if you choose to put a plant in there. Make sure to get it out before it gets root bound otherwise you won’t be able to take it out of this beautiful planter. This vase is absolutely gorgeous. I hope my pictures do it justice.

Very heavy and solid. Rustic texture, reminds me of sanded plaster walls. Has a matte type finish. I have an oversized coffee table and this is substantial enough to not be dwarfed by the table. My second vase from this company, would absolutely recommend. The type of quality you might find at stand alone high end decor stores.

This is a heavy vase. It appears to be well constructed and appears to be equally high-end. It appears to be rough finished ceramic vase giving it a shabby-chic style, classy and reasonable sophisticated but still keeps a down to earth appearance. I would say this can be a living room or foyer center piece vase. Its quite nice.
There are no holes in the bottom so it will not leak water, however, you will need to be careful not to over water your plant or put some type of draining at the bottom before adding soil and the plant. Maybe small lava rock would work, it's light and porous and hold water nicely.
It's coated in the inside with a clear waterproof coating most likely urethane so the moisture doesn't soak into the vase material.
I gave 4 stars for 2 reasons.
1. The bottom is rough and will most certainly damage a fine wood finish like a hardwood floor for example. You'll need to put it on a stand, a vase/plant caddy or add your own felt bottom. I'd suggest contact cement and a sheet of felt. Of course you'll need to cut the felt precisely to shape. You may also be able to buy those little round disk-like chair or furniture leg pads and put plenty of them on the bottom. I wouldn't only put 4 because youll create a streas point at each pad, I would put 10 or so all over the bottom of the vase.
2. The style of vase is very rough and pitted on the outside. This gives it a very nice style as I mentioned above, however it's going to be extreemly hard to keep clean as dust will collect in these pits and short of an air compressor (or high velocity handheld duster that you can buy here on Amazon which are great) there will be no way to remove the collected dust. Also, wiping with a rag or towel is basically impossible, the surface is textured and rough. I think it should have been coated with a flat sheen urethane to seal up some of the pits and make it a little smoother and easier to clean. If your house is sparkling clean (mine certainly is not) then this will be less of an issue. I would suggest (and I will do the same when I transplant my holiday cactus) putting some type of tape or cloth over the outside surface of vase when your transplanting into it. If your as "skilled" as I am when transplanting you'll have soil all over the vase and it will be very difficult to clean it off the vase outside surface. Of course if you don't plan to put a plant into it then it will not be a problem.
Overall this is a very nice shabby-chic vase. Well made, thick and fairly heavy (but certainly not too heavy). As long as you can keep it clean it will last for a lifetime. I'll carefully transplant my holiday cactus and use my high velocity handheld duster to blow it off occasionally. I added some close up pics for a visual reference of the outside finish you those that wish to consider if it is suited for their environment.
