Girl, Stop Apologizing (Audible Exclusive Edition): A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
Rachel Hollis points out the pitfalls, challenges, and excuses that stop us from achieving our aspirations.
Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: Women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they’re afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough.
In Girl, Stop Apologizing, #1 New York Times bestselling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people—whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee—instead of learning how to own who they are and what they want.
In this book, Hollis helps you to:
- identify the excuses to let go of,
- the behaviors to adopt,
- And the skills to acquire on the path to growth, confidence, and believing in yourself.
Hollis shares stories and principles with raw honesty that inspires her audiences to discover and take the practical steps that will put them on a lifelong path of personal growth.
Girl, Stop Apologizing is the life-changing guide you need to dump your excuses, embrace your dreams, set boundaries, and gain real confidence in life.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2020"Girl, Stop Apologizing" is like a manual of insider tips from Rachel Hollis about how she has been so successful. The book is a combination of her practical stories about her own ups and downs and her step-by-step techniques and strategies. So it's entertaining as well as educational. If you're someone who is open to learning ways to improve your life, or just looking for a few insights to tweak what you are already doing, you won't want to miss "Girl, Stop Apologizing." Like with any advice, parts of the book will resonate more with you than other parts. But as someone who doesn't have to agree with everything I read, I was easily able to sort out what is useful to me--and there is a lot here--and leave the rest. I've benefited a great deal from her guidance about mindset, for example, and about planning and prioritizing. I found this book priceless, to be perfectly honest. I'm so grateful Hollis took the time to analyze what has worked for her, and was willing to share her personal life and inner thoughts, which can be a big risk in today's hyper-critical world. I've adapted some of her ideas to my own situation and they work! I appreciate how generous she is about sharing all of her expertise!! Give this book a try. You won't be sorry!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2024There are a lot of words of wisdom in this book, and I think it would make a great bookclub selection, because as much as I enjoyed it, I wish I had other women to discuss it with. Well worth the read!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2024I would recommend this book a 1,000 times over. Rachel was real, honest and genuinely has women’s best interest at heart. I felt empowered to move forward towards my goals and to break through the areas that have been holding me back. I feel like I have so much more inside of me and Rachel gave specifics on how to grow to the next level. I took lots of notes and have already implemented some things to make apart of my life. I’m so glad I own this book because I will be returning time and time again to certain portions for review and to receive a boost along my journey.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2019I was so excited to read another book by Rachel Hollis! I simply adored her previous book:"Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies about Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be"! It was so full of positive, honest, friendly advice. It was like talking to a friend and I truly felt inspired.
And "Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals" is even better! Rachel Hollis again speaks to her readers like a friend and gives them encouragement and heartfelt advice.
The main message that this book gives is that YOU MATTER! Yes, You! Your dreams, goals and aims matter. It is an important message and too easily forgotten in everyday hustle.
This book is powerful. It can become a tool to change your life. If I seem overly enthusiastic it is only because I am extremely enthusiastic about this book and its message. I recommend "Girl, Stop Apologizing" to everyone. Read it, believe in yourself, take control of your own life and become a person you are meant to be.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2024This is good at listening to one persons views on how to stop apologizing and living your best life. It doesn’t work for everyone and not everything will work for you, but it’s not bad.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2024I have never been a go-getter nor self-starter. Widowhood in my senior years has seen me spinning my wheels the last few years. This book was an encouragement for me to look at my goals at this time of my life and see where I really want to go. It's an encouraging book for anyone who needs a cheer leader to live life fully and with purpose.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2020This is a bloody brilliant book! And a book I can't wait to purchase the hardcopy (perhaps signed by the writer?) to have it in my cozy library. I have highlighted most of this book as it's pure gold.
Rachel Hollis is my new fav writer. She is the female equivalent or better of 'Mark Manson' from 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F$ck'. Although, this book is focused primarily on women, it is truly for anybody and everybody. She is undoubtedly unapologetic about everything and doesn't do it in a 'bashful/in your face' way talking about everything from our excuses, our fears, insecurities, confidence, daily routines, dreams, positivity and many others. Her lines are simple, but thoughts are thought-provoking. I truly cannot wait to get my hands on her other books. But before that - I will be reading this again.
If I could give infinite stars to this book, that's what it deserves. Such a good and great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good motivational book
Easy to read, yet with valuable content. Some things that she mentions feel obvious, but I guess it's nice to be reminded of certain things sometimes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed, my recommendation
Rachel is a great writer. Self help books are usually something I avoid but Rachel however, creates an interesting point on a lot of topics from mothers having to show up for EVERYTHING which can stressing. To helping you understand being selfish is a great way to run a business or live your life. I would highly recommend this book - beautiful and insightful!
