Having enjoyed 'Blue Note reimagined Vols 1&2' I had hoped that this might follow the pattern set in those albums by bringing something new and distinctive to the songs associated with Chet Baker. From that point of view it was disappointing, sending me back to the originals, which was probably not the intention. Many of the tracks had the same kind of laid back approach that Baker perfected, but without the nuances. Vocal presentations mostly followed the whispering style. There were a couple of exceptions. 'Speak Low' by Ife Ogunjobi brought an attack that most tracks avoided, and I enjoyed 'It's always you' by Puma Blue. 'Reimagined' is possibly not a true reflection of the contents.
