I'd been using a Bissell Powerforce Powerbrush carpet cleaner for several years now which worked very well but I wanted something with a wider cleaning path and stronger suction. When I saw this Hoover machine on sale during the Black Friday weekend for under a hundred dollars I couldn't resist. It worked great on my carpets, and with its powerful suction I didn't have to make as many "dry passes" to suck up the water, and that factor combined with its 12 inch wide cleaning path means I can do the carpet in half the time. I think it actually cleans a little better, too. It's also easy to clean out after use because the dirty water tank has a removable cover, and the nozzle and brush can both be easily removed. After I cleaned my carpets I used it to clean my sheet vinyl flooring with just plain hot water and got it cleaner than I ever did with my old spin mop and soap, although I missed some spots where the water pooled and mopped them up later with a towel. I was a little concerned that the nozzle might scratch the vinyl, but it glided smoothly and I saw no evidence of scratching. Also the brushes are soft and do not bear down hard on your floor or carpet, yet it seems they work very well. Don't be put off by the fact that the brushes are not connected to the motor. Suction provides sufficient power to turn the brushes, at least on my medium pile carpet.
This machine also has a bag with attachments, a hose and even a small turbo brush you can use for upholstery and stairs, though I may never use these as I have a separate machine dedicated to this purpose.
On the downside, it seemed to pick up fewer cat hairs than my old Bissell. Also it's heavier, bulkier, and takes a noticeable effort to push. Some reviewers have reported durability issues. Time will tell, but I'm betting it will provide good service for years.
If you have minimal carpet you might prefer a smaller and more nimble machine, but if you have a lot of carpet then I think this is a good purchase even at its regular price. I feel I got a steal at 100 dollars. I'm so far very happy with it.

So I'll start with we have 19 yr old carpet. Short pile and burber. A st bernard, swampy yard and kids, and recent sewage leak. I did not pretreatment either. I have owned many carpet cleaners in the last 20 yrs. This is by far the best. I've had 2 Bissell and 2 hoovers. The hoovers were always better. Yes it's heavy. The pics show before and after. This is with 2 rinse, 2 wash, and 4 dry swipes using the hoover paws and claws cleaner. Skip the machines that heat the water and go for the ones with the heated drying like this one. Your carpets will be dry in a few hrs. Handy tips: always use the hottest tap water you can. Empty containers and dry seals before storing. Buy the storage mat. They all have a bit of water that leaks out when you're not using. When doing your dry swipes extend a few inches each way. Go slow, it gives the scrub brush time to work and sucks up the most water. If you go the speed you vacuum you will not get clean carpets. Use the name brand solution, yes it's more but it works better. Do a round of dry swipes the opposite way you cleaned with burber to get the most water out.

A pesar de que las alfombras son blancas (ya no tanto por lo viejas) ahora tienen otro aspecto. Ultima lavada profesional hace 4 años. Las manchas de necesidades de perro salieron por completo.
