70s House Manchester started as the home of lifelong collector of 70s style, Estelle Bilson, daughter of an antiques dealer, who has been collecting since 1990. Through decorating her home and showcasing it on social media, she gained a lot attraction from the public and press – including the Observer, Mail, Sun and Metro.     This is the retro book I've been searching for! It's more than just beautiful pictures of 70's style and fashion, it contains history, D.I.Y. ideas, design techniques, and even food and drink recipes for hosting a retro party. The book is heavy, and the colors are amazing. It has instantly become my new favorite book to display in my living room.

    I've been disappointed in the past with interior design books that just show pictures of setup rooms that I could see for free on Instagram. This book is not that at all! This book is honestly a must have tool for anyone excited about retro interior design. If you are just starting to find your retro style, this book will help you immensely. If you already have your retro style defined, this book will confirm that you're doing everything correct.

    The author is from the UK, so as a US reader, I found it to be even more interesting. I didn't know a lot of the 70's UK fashion history. And other than a few missing US icons, like WITCO and Viking, everything else in the book still applies universally. I didn't know what a "Car Boot" was, but now I know I have to get there early!

    If you love retro, vintage, 1970's style, or just love the color orange, this is absolutely the book for you!

    Perfect book to flip through if you want to be 70s inspired. The author is British and writes about 70s decor as she experienced in the UK as a child- so there were a few retro designs I hadn’t heard of- not sure if we had exactly the same things here in the US. The author has completely designed her home as close to groovy 70s as you can. Her pics are awesome!

    I would highly recommend to anyone interested in 1970s home decor. She covers textiles, lighting, plants, to name a few. Even clever ways to frame vintage fabric. I immediately ran out and bought some must-have plants to decorate my 70s modern home. Yay for philodendrons! I love this book and have it on my coffee table!

    I don't write reviews often but this book really deserves it! A fun, informative, and beautifully-presented coffee table book about 1970s home design. It's packed with information, beautiful pictures, context on the creators and brands, tips on how to source specific pieces, and some really nice personal anecdotes.

    The book is very well put together too, with a pleasant binding and super hi-res glossy pictures (fit for the bold 1970s colours!), plus nicely structured in thematic chapters. I really enjoy design books and this one is one of the best I've seen, it's just a joy to flick through and dip into again and again - I feel like I'm learning a lot reading it. This is clearly a labour of love from an expert on the topic.

    Genuinely a no-brainer for anyone who enjoys design and 1970s/retro styles - highly recommended!
