Great for Longterm Food Storage
With 3 sizes of bags and a 20 foot roll, this food vacuum sealer kit will work well for me for years to come. I roasted a whole turkey and wanted to store some of the meat in the freezer, so this was a great time to test out this vacuum sealer. I used both the "Vac & Seal" and "Pulse Vac" options on sealer. The "Vac & Seal" worked quite well on the cooked turkey. All of the air was removed out of the bag, and the meat shows no signs of future freezer burn as it has been resting in the freezer. I didn't get good results with the "Pulse Vac" option. I manually held down the button until it looked as if all the air was out, but the machine had a short delay (about 1 or 2 seconds) before it sealed the bag. During this short delay, some air makes its way back in the bag creating a loose vacuum. This also allowed ice crystals to form in the freezer. I definitely will only use the "Vac & Seal" option for meat from now on.
