Not as good as their rain suits for vapor barrier, wind protection, warming.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2021Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseI first saw a Frogg Toggs parka in an outdoors store several years ago, and I remember being impressed by the combination of light weight, low cost, and functionality. It was with that in mind that I ordered this to replace the old military surplus poncho that I carried in my pack for many years. Compared to the parkas, this poncho is made of much lighter material. It’s stretchy, and I don’t think it will stand up well to abrasion or being snagged by bushes. I’m also a bit concerned about how well the snaps that hold it together will stand up. Will they pull loose from the fabric?
It’s best seen as being sort of halfway between a disposable polyethelyne poncho and a nice silicone coated nylon one, I think. While I wouldn’t count on using it as a shelter on a hiking trip, It’ll last a lot longer than the disposables, certainly. It’s something you can carry for unexpected downpours, and reuse many times. I plan on carrying it in the small rucksack I take on nature hikes and bicycle rides where won’t take up much space or weigh me down, and will be there in case of an unexpected rain shower. For what it costs, I think it’s a decent value.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2023Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseI am 5'6, 220 lbs, and bought this poncho for my own use on rainy day hikes in Georgia, USA. I wanted breathability so I don't overheat. This poncho is perfectly waterproof and very roomy and comfortable. The snap closures allow air flow. My only dislike is that the length is knee length (on me) front and back, meaning that wearing even a small backpack causes the back to ride up too high for me to be able to sit and keep my seat area dry. I still like this poncho so much that I bought a second one to have a spare. Great for hiking on a rainy day trail!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2014Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseAs much as I hate to say it, we need to protect ourselves from rain directly onto our skin now. You would be amazed at how much radiation is in the rain. I know, people tend to think that someone saying that, is in Lah Lah Land, but it is true. Ever since March 2011 when the disaster at Fukushima took place, the rain has increasingly gotten more radioactive. The government is not going to tell you. Face it, if the Japanese government is putting their citizens in jail for talking about it on the tv or radio, what do you think our government is going to do about it? Take my word for it, NOTHING. They still have the new media insisting...what was the latest? Oh yea, that there is more radiation in a potato chip. I have my radiation RAD monitor hooked up, and everyone can go to [...] and see the RAD readings online for the whole country.
Anyway, I bought one of these rain ponchos, thinking it would be good for James. He does a lot of things in the rain, and if a raincoat does not have an attached hat, who is going to look for one? You know what I mean, takes too long to find one, and everyone is in such a hurry to do things. So, I ordered one, it is very lightweight, but the material seems plenty strong to hold up to the rigors that James and I put things through. I liked it so much, I got myself one as well.
With the warm weather, and the lightweightness of the poncho, it is easily worn without sweltering. The price is right too! I would definitely recommend one of these to everyone.
Keep the rain off your skin as much as you can. Be safe yall!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 6, 2023Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchasePlastic rain tapes makes me feel claustrophobic in the head neck is always too small. This has an ample neck area but the hood itself will pull down with a drawstring to the face so it’s comfortable. But the Cape itself isn’t hot! It actually breathes And yet it is totally waterproof. I’ve used it twice — I am in a wheelchair and it’s actually big enough that I can unsnap one of the under arms and the whole back of the cap will go over mt chair back So I don’t have rain water running down my back through the seat on the battery compartment. I know my situation is unique, and if you were a normal sized person it would just be a generous Raine cape/poncho! I am 100% satisfied and 100% thrilled and it wasn’t even expensive! If I could give this 10 stars I would

- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2025Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseThey look like a trash bag, have the same durability of a trash bag, and offer nothing that a trash bag can't do at a higher cost. They're truly hideous.

5.0 out of 5 stars 軽い!でもちょっとかさばる…
Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified Purchase

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect hiking poncho
Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseUsed during a 6 month hike and this was my only protection from the rain (besides my tent). I love that it fit over my backpack as well so I didn't need to carry a pack cover. Dries incredibly quickly. Hood was good and fit over a hat.

3.0 out of 5 stars Did the job
Color: Dark GreenSize: One SizeStyle: AdultVerified PurchaseThis is ok, kept me dry at a very wet festival. Which was the main thing but very difficult to fold back into the bag. One of the bags poppers came off the first time I opened it too, not ideal. Felt more breathable than disposable plastic ponchos.
