Great cover for turning the stove top into a countertop space for food prep
A bit small for the stove in my home kitchen (my bad for not measuring correctly). The material is OK but would be better if it's thicker in case if I accidentally drop something that can possibly damage the cooktop.

I had ordered this mat to protect my glass stove top from further scratches, and to increase useable counter space since my kitchen countertop is so frustratingly small. I like that the mat is grippy and textured on both top and bottom. There is a fire-resistant fiberglass layer that is sandwiched in between the upper and lower layers of silicon. I appreciate that the mat is fire resistant up to 1472 degrees F because I sometimes accidentally push the stovetop knobs in with my hip while placing food in the microwave oven that sits above my stove, and have melted bread bags and other plastics in the past. The stitching around the border that holds the 3 layers together looks even and strong.
Waterproof, heat resistant and protects glass stove from scratches. Increases my countertop space!

The mat is also waterproof and easy to clean with soap and water - spilled liquids sit on top, ready to be wiped up. Since the upper and lower layers are made of silicon, I will avoid using a strong degreaser and any antibacterial chemical sprays since it may make the surface sticky and tacky over time. I use soap and water and bleach wipes to clean the surface.
One small negative is there is a long crease that runs through the middle of the mat from being folded in the packaging. The crease is still present after the mat has sat flat for a few days, but I am hoping that it will disappear over time. It's a minor aesthetic complaint, but the crease does not detract from the function of the mat. Overall, the fire-resistant mat will give me a peace of mind knowing I won't accidentally melt anymore plastic bags after accidentally turning the stove on, and it covers all the scratches on the glass surface.
I really like that I can repurposed the large mat and use it to protect my kitchen table from high heat and oil splatters when I deep fry food in a deep fryer, and when I use my tabletop Korean BBQ grill. And the mat is super easy to wipe off and clean afterwards.
The reviewers who rated this mat lower because they erroneously thought this mat was not going to get hot should have read the instructions and the description better. The description clearly states that you can place the mat over an INDUCTION COOKTOP after allowing it to cool down 2 minutes. These cooktops only heat up certain conductive pans, so they cool down quickly. If you have a regular glass cook top, and don't have an induction cook top, you need to wait until the red light on the cook top tells you that it has cooled down. DUH. Come on people.
