These are beautiful stone base 1-way switch lamps. I say "they" since I got a pair of them. The caveat is that the shades don't necessarily match each other exactly and they are not white as advertised. One was white. One off white.
The first pair I got had one pure white shade (required and specified) and the other was just off, not pure white. The Amazon solution was not to send me a matching pair of replacement shades, but rather to send me two additional lamps from which I could keep the matching pure white shades and send the lamps back. I know. Idiotic solution.
As it turns out, it was no solution at all and the matter has yet to be resolved. The additional lamps had shades that matched each other but were farther off the mark from pure white, more of an eggshell. So I could not get two pure white shades out of this Amazon solution.
In my application I have 5000K daylight white bulbs for their need to be achromatic and cannot have any tinges of amber in the lighting at all, so ANY off w hite is unacceptable. Currently, the matter has been escalated with not resolution yet in sight. I am currently, using the two original lamps with the non-matching shades, one tinged with amber.
Of course, some of the blame goes to the lamp company. The shades should have been pure white. Period. Then there would have been no issue. I'm not letting that affect my review as the lamps themselves are beautiful and for most people I do not think the degree to which the shades are off white would matter.
These would be great as 3-way lamps, but they come with a 1-way switch which is necessary for me. I have dimmable LEDs in them and use a dimmer rather than needing built-in 3-way settings. If I ever want these to be 3-way lamps I think they are worth the effort of buying and swapping out the switches for 3-ways. They are fantastic lamps.
