It is not forgiving because the fabric is a bit thin. Don't worry though it is not sheer. This is a great classic. I plan to wear it with classic buttondown shirts and pointy toe flats. The length is perfect, just covers the knee (I am 5'4") and the 2X was a perfect fit.
