VERY DISAPPOINTED, VERY IMPRACTICAL
THIS FIRST HALF OF THIS REVIEW PERTAINS TO THE HORIZONTAL FORMAT (2 stars):I have a home office work area and there's some folders I need to keep available for continual reference. It can feel cluttered and disorderly on my desk and work area where I have so much else going on. I ordered this hoping I could put the folders out of sight while keeping them right at hand.However, the basket only holds a few thin folders on the bottom, and it isn't even deep enough front-to-back to contain them without the folders hanging out looking messy anyway.It should definitely be at least a little taller and deeper so it's actually practical for the intended purpose, not just something nice to look at, which is just taking up space without solving anything. Not sure I will keep it to use for this purpose or get something else instead that actually works.UPDATED 3/10/25: THIS HALF OF THE REVIEW PERTAINS TO THE VERTICAL FORMAT:I had also ordered the Vertical version of this basket to holding incoming bills and mail until I could file them. The vertical version of the basket arrived a day later and I just now had the opportunity to try it. I give the vertical version 0-1 stars. It is virtually useless for the intended purpose. I tried to put 8-1/2 x 11 bills and paperwork in the bottom slot, and the inside of the basket is so narrow and so rough that I had to fight to get the papers in, and then when I tried to get the papers out, they hung up on the straw weave and the bottom one got all twisted and torn.It is absolutely puzzling that they would make the dimensions of these baskets so small that they can scarcely be used for their specific purpose....! Such a shame, because they would be a nice addition to any home or office if they only worked!
