How wonderful are books and their authors. We can catch a glimpse of an era long gone and buried under the drifts of new Christmas snow.     Had a feeling this would be the case. I realized that the reviews for it were linked to a physical copy. The kindle version when I got it was free so I am not complaining. The intro must be from the hard copy too because it mentions the illustrations. The poem itself seems to be complete and the intro does offer interesting info on author. Wouldn't pay for it, but for free it is a good way to have a copy in hand.

    This review is for the Kindle version of the book that is currently given free of charge. Printed copies may differ.

    There is a short introduction to the story (poem) and then it runs into the text. I viewed this on the mobile phone app. The paragraphs were not lined up properly, but the contents of the story were all there with no spelling mistakes that I could see. There are no pictures in the Kindle version.

    A beautiful story that can be told year after year for many generations to come. Well worth having a copy though I don't think children will be as captivated looking at a Kindle as your read it. You have to have a big glossy picture book for that.

    If you don't know this story, try it on the Kindle or Kindle app for free. I am sure you will like it and want to get a colourful story book to read to the kids on Christmas Eve.
