- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2024This National Geographic Gross Science Kit is perfect for curious kids who love exploring all things weird and wonderful! I got it for my niece and nephew and they loved it! It comes with 45 different experiments, so there’s plenty to keep young scientists entertained.
The "gross" factor is definitely a hit—dissecting a brain, making slime, and other fun, messy activities kept the kids engaged and excited to learn. The kit includes clear instructions and most of the materials needed, making it easy to set up and follow along.
It’s a fantastic way to spark interest in science and get hands-on experience with experiments. If you have a kid who loves learning about the strange and gross parts of science, this kit is an absolute win!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025My son loves this kit! Even for a 4 year old he loved doing all the experiments, it kept us busy for hours.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2022I have bought several science kits over the years and this by far is the best. Here’s some of my favorite parts about this kit:
1. Sturdy box with compartments to help organize all the stuff inside
2. Two books included, one with detailed photo instructions for the experiments that are done from the box, sans another book with experiment ideas with items from around your house. The books also go into detail about the chemical reactions with the way they do.
3. Everything you need to do the experiments is included in the box: bowls, cups, stir sticks, measuring spoons and beakers, powders, dyes, etc. No more messing up spoons and bowls from your own cabinets.
4. This is probably not important to most people but I find it to be awesome. They included tiny ziplock bags for storing the powders after you open them, and labels for your creations.
5. The experiments were easy, and turned out great every time.
My son spent hours working on experiments and still has lots of experiments left to do! This is a great set and worth every penny. It would make a great gift for any kid. I will definitely be buying more kits like this one from National Geographic. This one really lived up to their brand!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2024My son got this for his 7th birthday and has had an absolute blast doing the experiments. The quality is nice, it isn't as messy as I thought it would be. The experiments haven't been too challenging and everything functions well. Lots of colorful and gross things to do. I definitely recommend this kit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Missing items
I am missing the white sodium alginate solution and the box was not sealed. As the item is missing, I am unable to carry out a bunch of experiments as it’s a crucial item.
I don’t want to return the item as I had alr opened some items up to use . Please advise
